The interface is confusing and the language is vague. Like, the first thing you have to decide is which mode you want to use. What is dualsense emulation and how is it different than native mode + send data to device? And passthrough, what does that mean? I would think it would send information from games to the controller, but that doesn't work. A lot of the software is like that. I can't tell if it doesn't work or if I'm misunderstanding it, and it's hard to find stuff because it's all scattered around. It doesn't help that there's also a beta, which has a completely different interface, and it's also terrible! I don't know, all I know is how it seems.

It seems you can't use the dualsense functionality built into some games wirelessly using this software.

It seems you can't create two (or more) stage triggers, like the Gamecube or Steam controller.

It seems you can't use the speaker in the controller at all.

It seems you can't link profiles to games and have the profile switch automatically.

The software is very limited and doesn't work very well. You can get most of its working functionality for free with other programs. It's not worth your money or time.

I used DS4 for years and DSX (when it was still supported before they moved to Steam and abandoning the older version).
I'm personally not a fan of having to run it through Steam, since Steam needs to run with it. I tend to close all application I don't need when I play something to free up resources. You could argue that Steam and DSX doesn't take much resources, but it's the fact you had DSX as a standalone before and you're now required to have Steam run with it.

I mean, let's be real, do you need it, not really. Does it have some cool features, sure. Having Ingame Audio react as Haptic/Rumble is somewhat interesting when the game actually has some bass to activate it, otherwise it's barely noticable. Even with Internal Speakers at 0, the Audio will still come through the controller if Audio to Haptic is on, it's not loud but having it on 0 and still being able to hear it coming through the controller is not 0 now, is it?
Why this app also has achievements is beyond me, especially since they don't even work.

I noticed while playing Rematch and testing it with Adaptive Triggers, that DSX gave me input lag when using the right stick to look around. Had to close it mid-game to get rid of the lag and play properly.

Also the Adaptive Triggers and Audio to Rumble feature are a hit and miss, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Even if you set up Profiles where one has them enabled and the other doesn't, switching between them doesn't activate the settings between them UNLESS you head to their respective tabs, THEN they start working for some odd reason.

The DLC seems to purely be if you want to use the PS5 controller wirelessly on PC, which my question would be, why? Selling a feature as DLC is one thing, but basically writing it as if you NEED it to make PS5 controllers to work is another. You don't need the DLC at all if you connect your PS5 controller with a cable.

All in all, it's ok in some circumstances but if you play a PS5 game, with intentional cases they programmed for how Adaptive Triggers and controller rumble should work with different weapons or feeling the rumble when using a vehicle, then this app completely overwrites those and giving you those setting you have set up.

There are definitely things to iron out, I feel. Having DSX as a standalone as it was before basically did the same things with certain features missing, sure, but without having to need to pay for it, so if you still have it, good on you.
But as of now, I don't know how to feel about it and therefor can't recommend. If they fix things up then sure, but if features don't work even if you set them up that way, then no, especially if simple Profile swapping doesn't activate the features you set.
