The other thing, the character seemed to be moving pretty fast the entire time. Is there anything that will affect moving speed (such as heavy armor vs light, lots of equipment in inventory, or broken legs/ lots of damage)
1. There are skills and skill combinations that along with the wise gear selection can make a strong melee-focused character, stealthy or designed for more direct action if you wish. Fictional and even already existing but more advanced technology like Personal Kinetic Shields, Gravi-Hammer, Monomolecular Blade or Exoskeleton Armor etc. allows us to present melee combat in rather interesting and satisfying way. It is always up to the player how to deal with his enemies, but sometimes one quick slash or tomahawk throw can be very useful even for the character who prefers guns.
There is also some kind of ammo shortage in the game, but this has to do with to the special ammunition, which is really valuable and is worth crafting and looking for. We don’t want to limit the players options too much, but at the same time we want to make the decisions he makes matter. You can focus either on melee or on shooting things and spend all talents and money to make your character more effective in this specific area, or you can combine some melee and shooting if you want, but this will definitely affect the gameplay.
2. Heavy armor will give you additional protection but it also significantly limits the movement speed and makes some special acrobatics moves impossible. You can chose between additional mobility or protection and decide which is the best for your combat style. Damage will also affect the movement, but at the current stage of the development we think it needs to be thoroughly tested by players in order to figure out, how strong that influence should be. We don’t want to make the player to get totally frustrated with Jacks broken limbs, when he must drag his feet for an hour to the nearest doctor.
