I was really looking forward for this game, but it seems that since December 2012 there wasn't any new info about it. Has project officially died?

I was looking forward to it as well, I hope it comes out on greenlight.

Seems that way. I've tried getting a hold of the developers to see what's up. All I could get out of them was that they were working on a XBLA port with no mention of the PC version. The PC version is already complete apparently, they're just sitting on it for no reason.

I've posted in the comments about how the Developers said in an interview that they said they thought they're game was "Made to be on Steam and nowhere else." which is incredibly pretentious. They could release the game through Desura or somewhere else and even raise their status on Greenlight by doing so. But the lack of any updates in almost a year more or less tells me the Developers don't care about their own game.

Which is sad, because I've gotten a lot of Mileage out of the Beta and really want to play the rest of the game to see what it has to offer. But if the Developers don't give a crap, why should anyone else?

They should totally send copies to youtube personalities like Total Biscuit, Northernlion or something. I'm almost certain it wouldn't hurt them, but it could boost greenlight campaign .

Anyone that has requested the full game for review or lets plays or whatever were all get told to download the beta and wait for the full release. Though the Beta has a lot of content, I see no reason to give review copies out to help get promote the game.

They were pretty active in posting updates and getting the word out for the game before they finished it, but since they've actually finished developing the game, they have done very little to help promote the game as if they expect people to just magically discover it.

Sorry if my posts come off as cynical. But with the game already finished for almost a year now and no release date in sight from anywhere, It's hard to be optimistic.
They're sitting on it, likely waiting for the ability to release it on Steam and Steam alone (apart from the XBLA port which I've heard no news about). The developers are keeping us in the dark, and afte rmonths of waiting, I'm walking at this point as I'm tired of waiting around.

Note to devs: Please improve your communication and be honest with people, specially when your initial posting gives a definitive release date of over a year ago.

Platformines got Greenlit today (reference ) . Now what? Resurrection?
ooktar 29/out/2013 às 11:42
Huh, well I'll be damned. I guess we'll finally get to play it after all, Assuming the developers haven't forgotten about it. Though at this point I can't really say I'm excited for it, but at least it'll finally get released.

On a side not, its a little odd that list of games is in alphabetical order, yet platformines is at the bottom, almost like they were a last minute addition.

I'm still excited, looks awesome to me.

I think the formula they came up with here could've been a hit if they had done any meaningful community building at all instead of ignoring the project and the people asking about it for the better part of a year (and counting).

No, Platformines is not dead! It has even never been so close to be released :)
We now need to conform the game to Steam Apis (leaderboards, achievements, badges, ...).
It will certainly last several months but be sure that we'll be at least as excited as you to release the game!
ooktar 6/nov/2013 às 13:28
Several Months!?!?!?! Are you kidding me!?!?!? Valve made Steamworks available to all dev's months ago so they could integrate all that beforehand. So instead of working on all that so it would be all ready for release, you waited til the last minute to do this?

This means that you really have just let the game rot for the past year while sitting on your hands or working on your supposed XBLA version. The fact that you've pretty much abandoned this greenlight page til now is pretty evident that you couldn't care less. I for one am not excited anymore for this game and, if anything, your apparent disregard for it has only made me even less enthusiastic for it.

Public Relations is all about keeping your customers updated and informed about what's going on and helping to maintain interest in your product, neither of which you have bothered to do. You need to learn how to be more open and available to your audience otherwise your going to drive customers away.

that's what I said on their greenlight page. ridiculous. it's like they don't even want anyone to play their game (or pay for it). I'm pretty sure more of this great pr will go on for the next 'several' months. and to think they hinted at multiplayer in a possible sequel... release the goddamn first game first! they had a year, they could've added it to this game instead of twiddling their thumbs, or just released the game on their website or various other sites in the meantime but no...

Yea, it is indeed annoying if devs fix bugs and implement new features instead of rushing a release. Ride to Hell: Retribution and WarZ showed how to do it right.

And those Indie companies who don't have 100 people working for them. Why even care about such small groups? After all, only Valve is a good indie company that always delivers early, like Half-Life 2 Episode 3 or Half-Life 3.

Oh, wait...
Dohi64 7/nov/2013 às 13:20
you're obviously not aware of the fact that the game has been ready since last december and the devs decided not to sell it anywhere else but steam (which is strange on its own but whatever), yet somehow they didn't bother to implement any steam-related features in almost a year apparently and have to do it now, postponing the long overdue release even more. so as much as I like sarcasm, yours is not really appropriate in this case.

Yeah I also find it a bit weird... I was looking at my greenlight page, and was shocked to see this had been greenlight!! yet not released yet? ... its been more than a year than the game was supposedly finished and ready to ship... I even wrote a few emails back and forth with the Devs back then as I was even willing to buy the game directly from them since I really wanted to play the full version! After a while the answers stopped coming... I cannot say I am "excited" since its been so long, but I'm still interested and if the price is good enough I might end up getting it still! :)
