Solo killing Bosses
Hi,

So I play almost entirely solo, and killing Bosses has proven REALLY challenging for me. But without diamonds, I cant progress and saddle my alpha wyverns.

Any ideas? I am playing on The Island with max level 150. Thanks!

alpha rex , alpha spino and giga ( all in packs ) can kill bosses . i would avoid manticore , dodowyvern and dodrex till you have a boss .

Thanks. Yeah I was thinking about rexes for the Megapithicus, but I honestly havent seen a single alpha Rex Spino or Giga in my solo game at all yet

My first killed then tamed boss was a Brood Mother easiest to knock down than a Megapethicus
Killed with 3 Alpha Dodorexy
Brood Mother will help you to kill or knock down other boss

Titans have a huge advantage over broodmother as they are immune to her torpor attacks. So she mostly wastes time trying to KO the titan than do her basic damage. Mega-Ape are also possible with titans, but approach with caution and it's strongly recommended to use 100% imprinted titan with high quality saddle. Avoid dragon and other bosses at all cost, dragon does way more damage than brood and megas.

Yeah I accidentally flew over a dragon without seeing it and I lost my lvl 350 lightning scourge. Thing had over 250k hp and got roasted in about 10 seconds

Good advice on Titan but how the hell do you knock it down???

Get a fire wyvern to kill dragons. Thier bites hurt, but if you have a alpha fire dragons are a joke. Stay in the air and get under the dragon. You are immune to his flames and just have to tank his bite. Works with all wyverns, but fire is best since its fire doesn't hurt it. You have to be in the perfect spot under him to avoid his fire on other wyverns. If he hits you, its going to hurt....alot

KOing a titan can be done in two ways, cannonballs or poison compound arrows. Compound poison arrow is honestly the easier and more reasonable choice though. What you will want to do is find a high quality compound bow from yellow pylons, and then a good water dino to farm LOTS of bio toxins (Squids do well in this, but you can have an army of water dino and have one be the bait for the jellies to hug).

You will need an average of 18-25 compound poison arrow for a lvl 150 titan. Get on a fast mount (they know gravity roar too, so be careful when being too close on a small mount) and keep firing the arrows at it and moving away...they are pretty speedy than they look.

As long as you have blood vials (ALWAYS HAVE EXTRAS), any fresh tamed titans can beat broodmother. But if you want to take on mega-ape, I strongly recommend breeding titans and getting high quality saddles (the saddle BP can be found from killing titans...which is super easy to do with a tamed titan)

As for the fire wyvern on dragons, I do not recommend this tactic. Dragon SOMETIMES shoot meteor ball that will kill you, even if you get stuck under it. There's also no guarantee that the dragon will decide to stay still either, and there's stamina you have to keep in mind (or just bring fortitude vials).

Thanks for all the advice. I actually managed to kill a dragon with all my raised Alphas wyverns while riding a gryphon and firing an assault rifle at it. Took about 500 rounds from a 500% rifle but it worked.

Saddled my alpha fire wyvern and its meteor attacked damages bosses! Killed a couple mega Apes and saddled the rest of my alphas. Those fireballs are doing 6500 damage to the apes so its farming season now.

Thank you to everyone who gave input! I still havent seen a Titan on my map but when I do, I'm ready. I managed to tank a ton of jellies with an alpha megalodon I have and I now have about 45 compound poison arrows. Also spotted an alphas squid I'm going to try to tame.

Anyone know how to get those? I tried feeding it black pearls, but the hit box on it is SUPER wonky.

Squids in general are buggy sometimes. If it says "It doesn't want to be tamed now", then you're screwed and you'd have to kill the squid in order to save your grabbed dino. Otherwise, it's just let him grab a dino and you feed its mouth. Then wait for about 5-10 minutes and then repeat.
