Troubleshooting FAQ, known problems, and bug reports
Q: Why is there one empty class with a knife? Bots only have knives too.
A: You're attempting to play Army of Five in Solo mode. Unfortunately, it is not supported. Half the mod's features are implemented in the Army of Five plugin, and you can only load plugins on dedicated servers. Please refer to the server hosting guide to host one.

Q: I see standard classes in the selection menu. Some don't work.
A: It's a bug with the game. Most likely Army of Five was loaded correctly but the class list did not update visually. You can play as is, or you can simply restart the game and reconnect to fix this.

Q: I'm not seeing any Army of Five servers in the Cooperative tab.
A. Make sure you are not on the beta branch of the game. Also make sure that the min/max player sliders are specified correctly, i.e. min = 0 and max = 5. Still nothing? Maybe there are no servers indeed, maybe something's wrong with the mod, or maybe something's wrong with your connection. Please try again later.

Q: I saw bots trying to run into walls. How do I report this?
A: Unfortunately there's very little I can do about such issues. If it's a really bad case (e.g. a dozen bots consistently gets stuck in the same place every round), please report it here (provide screenshots if possible). Otherwise, sorry but we cannot modify AI's pathfinding.

Q: The firing sound of Marksman's rifle is strangely delayed. Is this a bug?
A: It is a complex bug with the game. The developers have been notified but it's still not fixed. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do. Note that it only affects you when you spectate a Marksman. When you are Marksman yourself, the sound is fine.

Q: I cannot pick up another weapon from the floor as Grenadier.
A: It appears you cannot drop your M79 when it is empty. It's strange, really. We could not find a solution to this so far. We'll update the mod if we do.

Q: Sometimes as Scavenger my movement speed decreases significantly.
A: Seems like you can pick up a heavy weapon (e.g. M249) and swap it later for a lighter one without the game decreasing your total weight back. It must be a bug with the game and it cannot be fixed from the mod level. Please resupply to reset your speed.

Hi!

I'd like to let you know about another common problem that some people have been encountering in your servers. As a player connects to the server and take no action for a while, server kicks the player out ("Kicked by console"). I get this one. However, lets say if somebody is the last man standing and others are waiting for thim to capture/destroy the objective, the people who are spectating have also been kicked by the server unless they take an action (like writing something or using the mic) with the same error. This issue is kind of demotivating the players because they have to join the game over and over again after getting kicked.

If you can check it out, i would really appreciate.

Yeah a few other people have been reporting the same issue. It's very strange though. I had a report that a simple Steam restart might help the issue, could you please try doing that and see if it works?

EDIT: I added this to the FAQ above along with another possible solution, please check it out.

With the latest update today, the sourcemod army_of_five plugin causes core dump crash. :(

Yup, the update broke some very important things in Sourcemod itself. RIP AoF, I guess.

Thank you. Indeed, Sourcemod guys have already updated the Insurgency support. I honestly expected that to take so much more than a few hours, if ever at all... Anyway, I've already contacted all the AoF server hosts, we should get all the servers up and running soon.

Hey, we were playing on block party a lot with my friend and we noticed you cannot shoot people through car windows, they can't see you either. I like the elevator though, I'd like to see more active element maps and "story" maps like prophet.
Hi Rushin'Russian, I am hosting AoF on my dedicated server, I have receive feedback from players that they get kicked by console randomly. May i know what is the cause of it? I didn't do anything on the console. I just left the server on for players to play. Thank you!

Hi, thanks for hosting AoF!

Please check the following cvars on your server:
mp_autokick_idlers (in minutes; should default to 8)
sv_timeout (in seconds; should default to 180)

I have slightly decreased the default autokick times because generally you don't want idle players to hold the slots for too long since there are only so few of them in AoF. However, on some servers it doesn't seem to work right. Either way try to increase the values of these cvars in cfg/army_of_five.cfg on your server, and also find out if it actually works, i.e. perhaps the config gets overridden by something?
