More Maps Pack [Non WOTC]

Tell me your level ideas!
Is there a structure or place you would like to see in XCOM 2? What about a specific cover setup that you think would play really well? Let me know and if I like the idea I can see about making it!

Please keep in mind however, I am not a 3d artist. I have to use the art that ships with the game to create the level parcels. I cannot run off and create the statue of liberty or anything like that! But I can use the shipped assets to create new structures and game play spaces!

Parcels:
-A train, with seats for cover inside
-several cars parked as only cover (so your cover can blow up)
-a farm with straw as cover
-Docks and ships


I now it might be hard but maybe as whole new "set":
-underground with tunnels
-inside a giant building or mansion(advent leaders mansion?)
-inside a bigger alien ship
-some wild west saloons and town
-on a bridge

I know some of it isnt very detailed but i just wanted to give you some ideas, maybe you find something useful in it. Also try looking at the old game and long war, maybe you can reuse some of them?

Multi-story carpark area. Train tracks in city locations, double freeway with connecting ground level. Large bridge with 4 lanes either side.

I would love to see some other parcels that uses the urban "upper highway road"(?) tile. I only see it in that one large strip, usually splitting the map in half. That thing is everywhere and it's always the same! :steamsad:

Seems like a great mod, maybe add some parcels for retaliation missions? Like maybe a greenhouse, a sort of barracks or common house, a mess area/cafeteria. And maybe for regular missions parcels like a lumber mill or rock quarry? Nice job on the mod though, look forward to see whats to come.

I was just thinking, since there's an abandoned version of the iconic gas station, why not an abandoned version of, say, the bar and grill, or the fast food place? Just thinking aloud here.

I have to second all of these, especially larger/more varied alien ships.
Possibly also some remakes of maps from EU/EW, like the train and freeway maps.

Abandoned cabins and other structures for wilderness regions would be nice. Also, anything that adds more verticality to levels. I'd like some complex apartment buildings and the like.

Car park? Maybe a foresty style cabin? A drive-in movie theatre? (Lots of cars looking towards a big screen)
Is it possible to make certain parcels specific to certain regions or areas?

As I have a few specific ideas:

In East Asia and New Indonesia, how about something like Pagoda's type Parcels? Like an old delapidated shrine that was abandoned after the Aliens took tover. And in Indonesia, Buddhist Wats or temples might be a good immersive thing to add. In India, Hindu temples long abandoned would be an interesting thing to add, really make each region in XCOM 2 have its own unique flaire and really 'pop'.

There are a few ideas that I have come across when playing the game that I wondered if were even possible.

1) Map with moving parts.

All of the set pieces in the maps are static, what if they moved? Maybe the squad protects a bus of refugees while it drives through the streets, or in a lobby of a highrise where the elevators and stairways spawned the reinforcements.

2) Verticle Play

The tallest platform I have seen is 3 stories or so. Ask a group of people who do tactical gunplay for a living and more than a few would tell you clearing a room with levels is much more dificult than standard rooms. Maybe a long winding stairway to evac with some grapple points or fighting in a darkened basement with holes in the floors and walls that may occasionally have an enemy or two in them.

3) Challenge Tile

Have a tile that is easily recognizable with a reward in a hard to get to location, be it becouse of mob placement or simply far out of reach. Players who find it can earn a reward by reaching a certain point in the tile. It would be awesome if it was some sort of chest with loot, but even a great sniping post might be worth the time and effort.

Just a few thoughts, Let me know if any are possible. I will drop another line if I think of any more. :)

I'd love to see some more types of "abandoned" locations, similar to the artwork we see in some of the Rumor artworks. Maybe the rubble-littered interior of a stadium or a mall converted into a Resistance Base for retaliation attacks? I feel like Firaxis really missed a golden opportunity with these "lost" segments of human civilization and the fact you'd be hiding in these abandoned places is all the more proof for why they'd make sense to appear.

Beyond that, I'd think some of the parts mentioned before would be a good addition. I'd certainly like if we saw some more EXALT structures (an EXALT Mansion? flashbacks) and other rural scenery. For the most part, cities and slums are fairly well off... but 90% of the wilderness maps are bland forestry and one occasional building or so spread out over hills. It's by far the thing I'd love to see expanded if there can be some things to fill it (maybe lower-to-the-ground hunting blinds or treeforts from people trying to live away from ADVENT?).

Here's one. A car dealership. maybe a bit less than half-full lot, lots of cars. small, tight rooms with office furniture next to one big room with the decor apropriate for a garage.

How about...

- a Skycrapper (only one large building, as many floors as possible; the lowest floor is either undestructable or means PERMADEATH if you fall)
- a School (for the feels), can make use of the Playground parcel(s)
