DaemonForge Jun 29, 2015 @ 8:12pm
Dedicated Apako Server Up and Running
My Server
Server Name: Youre Not Ready - Apako V0.751 - yourenotready.ca
Ark Version: 189.0
Apako Version: 0.76
Server IP: 168.235.145.201:27015
Website http://yourenotready.ca

You no longer have to modify the client in order to connect to this server, Just find it in the browser and connect. The server is running vanilla currently once mod is fully released I will modify settings as needed. Hoping Modder will fix dino spawn rates ;)

Known Issues:
Trees, bushes, Rocks don't disappear after harvesting.

How to set up your own server
Copy the mod folder "469987622" from "SteamApps\workshop\content\346110" on your client to the server in to "ShooterGame/Content/Mods/"
Modify the start string to start look something like this:
"/Game/Mods/469987622/Apako?QueryPort=27015?listen?ModId=469987622"

The Important parts are "/Game/Mods/469987622/Apako" and "ModId=469987622"

Feel free to add me on steam or join on my Teamspeak ts.yourenotready.ca if you have any questions about connecting or if you want help getting your own server set up.

The local files of the map should be in your steamapps/common/Ark/ShooterGame/Content/Mods folder, and the folder named "469987622" is the one for Apako.

Also make sure you have subscribed to the mod, If not maybe it doesn't save the same way on the default I will look into and try and refine my instructions. If anything try to search for the "Apako.umap" file and create a Apako folder in you "ARK/ShooterGame/contents/maps" directory

I'm glad you made this server, this map looks like fun but seems to be awkward to play solo. I'm joining in now! Hope that is ok.

I agree i was trying to play this map solo but I couldn't have that much fun but playing on a server if defiantly the way to go I would love to see tribes trying to claiming islands and having wars between them i think that is going to one of the funnest parts of this map.

I try to connect to the server, and I cannot seem to get into the map itself. I click "Create New survivor" and then its just viewing the background picture from there. Any ideas?

I'm running into that problem as well, not sure what's wrong at the moment.

I am thinking its most likely due to a map version mis-match I am updating the server now to 181 and I am updating the Map files on the server to 0.5 Make sure you have the same.

You have to go to the same steam library that ark is installed in.

BTW, I passed along the bug report for having to move and rename the folder over to the devs, so it should be fixed soon :)

Hey DaemonForge. Are you willing to share how you got the map working? I have a group of friends that I host an Ark server for on a Linux Dedicated box runnin Ubuntu 14.04. Trying to get the command for launching with a Workshop Map, However, it doesn't appear to be documented anywhere.

Ya sure, I haven't tried on Ubuntu yet, But it should work in theory just follow the same instructions for the client on the server differnce is that STEAMCMD doesn't let you download the mods you will have to copy them from your own client, Then on the start you have to change TheIsland to Apako, example mine is
"Apako?QueryPort=27015?listen"
Now i configure the rest in the ini but of course you can just add the other necessary commands in the line. Keep in mind you will have to manually update the server when ever there is an update to the map/mod. This should work for any mod.

So we just have to put it into the ./ARK/ShooterGame/Content/Maps folder and go just like the Client Side instructions you have posted?
