first this !ap is very good GG you have a very good mapper :)
I know you say (I will NOT release the current version's VMF)
but pls It's possible you give the last version vmf pls thx
add me on steam
best regards
No. Only the VMF provided is allowed to be used.
Also this ahs already been stole in mutiple cases... just do a quick browse of SCP maps on the gmod workshop. Half of them stole this.
And just saying, i highly doubt your legally allowed to submti a DMCA when you don't originally own the SCP foundation material. :l.
I dont think you understand. SCP:CB and your map both don't own the 'scp foundation' material. That belongs to the original site. You have no rights to a DMCA because you don't have any rights to the material used in the map itself, be it the scp foundation or the SCPs you chose to use.
With your logic, the people who made stuff like Pokemon: Uranium or Another metroid 2 remake would have the legal right to call DMCA takedowns in regards to uses of said fan games, despite not owning the original material they're based on.
Regardless, im not here to argue about DMCAs with you. Im here to make a request, or a beg, or whatever you want to call it. Please, give a more updated .vmf. Even if its from still an outdated version(one before gate B, or whatever). I want to fix this map's problems when used with the breach gamemode. Since there is literally ONLY ONE ISSUE the map has in regards for balance with said gamemode, and ill rather ot have to go make an entire new map from scratch that the gamemode creator would refuse to use regardless, that no one would join on since it snot the 'official map', and because spending up to a year or two, time which I do NOT have to make a new map that would be what accounts to as exactly the same as this map except with ONE hallway difference and slightly different looks, would be a waste of time.
Then again im wasting my time appealing to you regardless.
A. Don't got time to spend remaking an entire map of the size needed for breach.
B. Because the SOLE ISSUE IS ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TELSA GATE AND NOTHING ELSE. The fix would take him all of 5 minutes to do, not counting compiling time.
C. Because everyone else I seen agrees that the sole issue with the map as a whole is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ choke point at heavy containment.
Thats why i want to edit it. Just to solve that issue and have a version of this map made specificly for breach, without having to spend what would take 5 years(due to time restraints on my end and a complete lack of remotely good SCP maps on the workshop) to make a new version, which by that point the gamemode will be long dead.
Edit: Doesnt help the sole mapper i seen working on a SCP map with the intent to release it for breach is absolutely godawful.
In terms of chokepoints, let’s look at Dave Johnston's “de_dust”. It’s an amazing map, yes. It fits well with the gamemode, yes. But at the time, no one knew what the "Bomb Defusal" gamemode really was. Was it like Hostage Rescue? Do we plant the Bombsites in the middle of the map? What would be fun to play? Basically, the map is 2 CT Sided Chokepoints: Upper Tunnels and the Bridge. Was it competitively viable? Nope.
The problem with gm_site19 was that it was originally designed for mucking around. The sort of mucking around where you spawn in a few dozen NextBot NPCs and make a mad dash to the other side of the facility. We had no clue what the Breach Gamemode was, and when Kanade originally contacted us about the gamemode, we were really surprised someone wanted to know so much about Kammorne's map.
Well, why hasn’t this issue been fixed? Well actually, I'm pretty sure neither of us have sat down and played the gamemode, we're simply not interested in it. Also, I'm pretty sure you're the first person to really talk about this issue. All I've heard is "Revert the Map" and "rip My Server". It's kinda demoralising when you update a map for a large group of people to then be ridiculed by practically everyone in the comments section.
But one of the most important things is the date. It's nearly March. Kammorne is already back at Polytech and I'm a weekend away from going back to University. The thing is, Map Makers have lives. We've got friends to hang with, family to care for, our own personal problems to deal with. It's not like Kammorne devotes the majority of his time developing his map. It’s a side project. A hobby, not an obligation.
I'm extremely glad a small Sandbox Map became a huge deal, but we never planned for this. It was supposed to be an artist's rendition of the SCP Facility, not an arena.
Soo, uhh yeah. I hope we get Kammorne to look into this whole chokepoint thing in the future, but we actually have no idea what's going on. As I said, we haven't set time down to actually the play the thing. Kammorne isn't a godawful mapper. 8 years ago? Maybe, have you seen what he named his portal maps? It's an absolute nightmare. All this toxicity and negativity in the comments after the update has made him really sour. We get somewhere around 100 comments a week. A couple days ago, we had 68 new comments complaining about the map. Only 5 of them really praised Kammorne's craftsmanship.
The Tesla Gate will be put into a to-do list. I can assure that. It’s just going to be on low priority for a while.
