You just can't have any negative opinion about something popular because you'll get bashed by those "cultists" and think you only dislike it for being popular. What do you want me to say? Of course i make meme cosmetics as a joke, the viewer influx spikes popularity of other cosmetics after their initial submission and subsequent drop off the front page.

This is basically marketing. And your engagement, whether positive or negative (such as this thread) drives the item further up the most popular list.

It gets positive reception > people check the collection > older cosmetics get visitors (even a few can matter) > old items are now in the top few pages = Valve are more likely to see them.

Right now the first hat i made a year ago is on page 4 rather than page 104.

Guys can you stop fighting? This is actually a really good cosmetic and I don't see anything wrong with it. It's actually pretty good, memes aside. You can make a "hip" old guy loudout and things like that. This is a good cosmetic and if you're gonna keep complaining, make one yourself.

I agree. This isn't badly made by any means, but TF2 is a timeless game. Shoving something like a meme in it doesn't contribute to its timelessness, especially in today's era where memes kinda come and go.
Why do you think Hotel Mario and other YTP stuff is still loved and used? Probably because it was made popular in a different time, and by different people. It's not like everyone knows or cares about CDI memes/fads.

This term really isn't a meme and has been around for years now. People still use it to this day, it's not a new meme just because your dumb ass discovered it yesterday.
