The open rail design common to sci-fi railguns is completely innacurate. You actually need an enclosed barrel in a railgun or the slug will just fly out the side since that's the path of least resistance.

However, you can use a laser to guide an electric charge so this design is actually pretty good for a lightning thrower.

Thats what I was thinking too, also to the comment above, a railgun in space would shoot straight as there is no resistance anyhow.

The resistance is the magnetic waves that attempt to push the projectile. the least resistant path isn't towards the magnets, it's towards the side where there is nothing else preventing the projectile from flying out of the line that is supposed to accelerate the projectile.

A rail gun is not a coil gun. how about you learn the difference.

Id like an Opticor skin like that insted of an amprex skin

What gave you the impression I don't know what the difference is and why do you think that matters for what I said?

Huh a skin that makes the amprex look awesome? Yup. Pity the dmg2.5 is about to render it unusable. As for the lanka comments, sure but elongate the 2 barrel pieces and sure.

I looked at its thumbnail and thought "Ohhh Amprex Prime"! LOL

as far as i know they aren't touching elemental just nerfing slash and buffing puncture and impact , but lets hope they dont make us take a break tho :(
