Test and feel the HUD with these Ace Combat levels!

The Basics
  • ' ~ HUD ~ ' activates the HUD for that specific camera.
  • 'Attitude Display' shows/hides the attitude display, throttle slider, and altitude slider.
  • 'Flip HUD' is for when the minimap shows you moving the wrong way.

Things That Happen By Default

  • Speed, altitude, attitude, and heading are displayed.
  • Simulation time is displayed.
  • The HUD displays progress bars when any progress is made. The top bar is the current player's team.
  • Machine damage is displayed, if there is a level entity checking machine damage.
  • Crossbow ammunition count is displayed if there are crossbows, and blanked out if infinite ammo is on.
  • Active god modes are displayed.
  • The camera will ice up above the ice layer.

Things You Need To Configure
  • The throttle display sliders run in two modes: Continuous and Discrete.
Continuous mode uses a steering hinge in 'Throttle' mode, and is used for helicopters and variable-throttle engines (see Big Mathis' stuff). There are settings for both directions - if it's doing the opposite of what it should, use the other setting.
Discrete mode uses the 'Engine' (toggle) and 'Throttle' (hold) buttons on the camera (see CCCanyon's or my stuff).
The camera will automatically run in Continuous mode if there are any hinges in 'Throttle' mode.
  • The landing gear display slider uses a steering hinge in 'Landing Gear' mode. It does exactly what you expect.
  • The weapon/hardpoint display shows every grabber/decoupler with a mode other than 'None' with appropriate graphics.

Things That Happen When You Play Shadé's Levels

  • Level entities configured appropriately will have icons showing their position.
  • A minimap will be displayed, and level entities will be displayed on it. If the camera is in first person mode, the minimap can be zoomed in/out with the scroll wheel.
  • Entities can be targeted, showing their name and distance; use the middle mouse button to target the entity closest to the screen's center (or kill/deactivate the current target). A pointer will show the direction the target is in if the target isn't on screen.

Configuring Level Entity Icons
Add the following to the end of the entity's name:
HUD_<type>_<alignment>_<priority>
- type: a|g|i|null - air, ground, invincible, or nothing
- alignment: enm|tgt|fnd|neu - enemy, target enemy, ally, neutral
- priority: pri|null - sticks a larger box on top of the entity; can be used in conjuntion with a null type for landmarks etc.

Things You Can Configure With Object Explorer
  • You can toggle the icing effect.
  • You can toggle the simulation time counter.

Things I Really Should Do
  • Add proper multiplayer support (make things work and add player targets)

Yes, this is the mod on the store page.

Shadé - Pitched the idea, thought up most of the features, created all of the graphics, and made the showcase levels.

@Yagni yagni subscribe to this mod, then make sure it's activated in game.
then set up the HUD in the camera block parameter.

@alsens it seems like it doesn't work anymore. I can't find that button that once was there.

You could A) try to set the freeze zone higher or B) deleting the freeze zone

A) In object explorer: search for 'ICE FREEZE' and open it > look for UnitiEngine.Transform and expand if needed > expand 'Vector3' (the one on the top) and edit 'Y: 1710' to something higher (1710 is the default hight, resets if game is restarted)

B) In object explorer: go to start page (by pressing 'Deselect' in the bottom right cornen > check the box next to 'Disable: Ice Layer' (checked box = red box)
