Welcome to beautiful Medellin! To quote a fellow hosteller who has also visited the city, "Medellin is a very cool city with perfect climate." Medellin is a beautiful Colombian city at an altitude of about 4000 ft (1200m) near the equator. It has both light rail mass transit and also on the north end of the city it has a gondola system for getting from the dense river valley, up to the favellas in the hillside and famous modern public library. Medellin is a crowded city in a deep valley, while this map is not 100% to scale it does a good job of capturing the spirit of a vibrant Colombian city nestled in a large canyon.

Map has excellent water flow and a very, very deep river.Train connections to the east and west, road connections to all four sides, airplane connections and even, just barely, a ship connection at the very North end. Lots of agricultural resources as well as forestry, with some oil to the south. Fair amount of ore in the hillsides as well.
