However, I do not like this mods midgame. I had an absolutely absurd amout of resources going into year 40 or so but I got hit by wall after wall of timegating from the required 1500 influence and the 3-4 megastructure eggs you need to build to advance into the crisis.
In concept the midgame is cool and I like getting rewarded for upgrading behemoths, and also that I can't just sacrifice my ships to upgrade them, but I can sac my planets, I sent 30,000 of my own people to die to level up a behemoth and it was cool. But what isn't cool is trying to get 18000 behemoth progress. I think the progress needs to much more reward pop kills or else building tier 1 behemoths needs to be faster and cost less influence.
When you reach level 5, "Primal Roar" just ends all possibilities of diplomacy.
The end goal of the path is not destroying everything. You don't even do it on accident (see Cosmogenesis).
You as a player need to start killing off other empires, while Cosmogenesis consumes living beings in the Synaptic Lathe for research purposes and no one bats an eye...
At the very least my "friends", Federation members, for example, should understand that I am not a threat.
My suggestion would be to change "Primal Roar" to:
-1000 Opinion with all empires
-100% diplomatic weight
Unlocks the Hunger casus belli
Maybe even more debuffs to make it balanced, but you get the idea. Maybe heavier debuffs while level 5 is ongoing, but when you stay the debuffs get weaker?
