Krys Emlyn's Railroad Crossing Enhancements

Description
This mod modifies the assets used around railroad crossings on the map to make them a bit more realistic.

- Added additional crossbuck signs on the overhead gantries that are used at railroad crossings
- The large European-style horizontal red/white striped gates have been replaced with smaller 45° diagonal striped gates
- A retroreflective texture shader has been applied to the stripes on the gates and sign faces so they show up better at night in the player's headlights
- The lamp faces of the railroad crossing signals light up and flash in an alternating pattern while the crossings are active
- Additional lights have been added to the gate arms (steady light at the tips and alternating flashing lights in the middle of the gates)
- Fixed the ladders on the gantries to stop near the top of the catwalk grating instead of at the top of the structures
- Added shadow geometry to the 1 Track railroad crossing gantry model (it originally had none!)
- Placed thicker posts on the rural railroad crossing signs that feature yield/stop signs (No one uses a 2x4 for a post!)

Update 6-28-2025:
- Re-exported all models to current file formats

Usage: put it into your mod folder and make sure it is enabled
Credits:
- SCS Software for the creation of the original models/textures
- ProMods for their Canadian railroad crossing assets
- Krys Emlyn (me) for modifying the models in Blender and assembling this mod

Works as intended for me still.

It should. I've been using the models from this package in a local mod with no issues.

Does this work for 1.56 version?

Thanks for the update!

Sorry for the wait. This package has been updated to current file formats, so it should have less issues going forward. The files were about 2 years old or older, so I'm not surprised that 1.55 had issues converting them on the fly.

I'll take a look at the models in this and see about doing an update, since the last time I updated this was December 2023.

In the 1.55 open beta, this mod causes a crash (I removed it and could not reproduce the crash), I experienced the game crash near the Tulsa Freight depot with an error related to an outdated model version that the game reported was too old to convert

@Gienio59, This is self explanatory. If you are experiencing texture issues such lights(flares) not working or checkerboard like boxes covering lights(flares) the easiest trouble shoot is to start disabling mods 1-by-1 or in groups until you find which mod(s) are conflicting with other mods.

I run over 90+ mods usually switch between JBX and PNG without encountering conflicting issues using this mod. Disable any graphics mods then sit on a busy crossing to determine what works and what doesn't.

So what we need to do? Only uninstal graphic mod? Or we can do something without uninstalling?

@TimmyBigTime After certain digging, I managed to find it was the Realistic Graphics Mod that Krys mentioned that was causing this. I disabled it and it then the lights started flashing.
I even tested with just that mod on its own and still gave the same result with the lights not flashing which is rather bizarre since I see other flashing lights near certain stop sign intersections and they work fine.
Surprised me that I couldn't find anything online about it given that quite a few people use the graphics mod and that nothing else had been mentioned about it or picked up on it
