La Puerta Dorada (The Golden Gate)

Welcome to La Puerta Dorada,

La Puerta Dorada or The Golden Gate is a bay largely based on Subic Bay located on the west coast of the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Due to its deep and protected waters, this is a map ideal for making harbors perfect for your beautiful Naval bases and ports. This map features realistic mountains, white sandy beaches, dense forests, fertile lands, mineral rich rivers, swamps and mangroves, multiple highway connections with realistic interchanges, a small volcano at the center of the bay inspired by the world’s smallest volcano which is also located in the Philippines, and of course two well arched Golden Gate Bridge to connect the mouth of the bay.

Quick Historical Background:
An extension of the West Philippine Sea or the South China Sea, the shores of the bay were formerly the site of major ship-repair, supply, and rest and recreation facility for the Spanish Navy and subsequently the United States Navy. Under the Americans, the bay was the 2nd largest overseas military installation of the United States Armed Forces. Following the departure of the Americans, the bay was transformed into a Freeport Zone by the Government of the Philippines.

Thank you! I think it may have been my fault, the map is called "The Golden Gate" in game, I was looking for La Puerta. Very beautiful map, I'm going to make a big tourist/university city here!

@Playerguy11 My bad I think I know why you can't find it, The game doesn't display the thumbnail in steamworkshop and it's been bugging me for days.

I've been struggling to replace the in game thumbnail for some reason. I've tried to replace the "previewimage" file countless times but it just keeps on displaying the default snapshot thumbnail in game. Turns out I have to replace the "snapshot" file instead of the "previewimage" file to display the map thumbnail in game as intended. It's all good now, enjoy the map! :steamhappy:

I downloaded map and all dependencies and have all of the mods, the map does not appear on the in-game list. I checked the content manager as well, not there :/

@mistenkt hmmm. . . That’s weird. If you subscribed to everything then it should work as intended. You can try the following:

- make sure to enable the tree assets in your content manager. You might have disabled some of the trees in the past, you can check the specific trees used in the Forest Brush settings I posted in the description.
- try adjusting the tree limit count in your Tree Anarchy 1.0.5 mod or Unlimited Trees mod, make sure to set it more than 400,000+ because I used more than 300,000 trees for this map.
- if the missing trees are along a body of water, you must enable “No Orange/Dead trees at shoreline” in the No Radioactive Desert and More! Mod.

I seem to be missing alot of the trees/bushes that you have used on the map. So it looks very empty when loading it. Tho every thing in the dependency list is checked. Any idea?
