Smooth Difficulty

Description
Smooth Difficulty is a mod that aims to distribute the difficulty more equally across the different stage. In standard game, IA has a very strong start and rapidly fall off. I don't touch the AI, and I want to keep the rule the closer to the standard rule.

Reduce early game power:
No Bonus Unit (Military, Settler and Builder)
No more Tech or Civic boost per Era.

Combat adjustment:
Increase of 1 in Combat Power. Humans can manage battle way better.
City State also get the bonus of Combat Power.
Huge boost of tourism from AI (+20% per difficulty starting from prince).

Delaying free power into late game:
Modifier of Production/Gold adjusted at 15% + 5% per era per difficulty starting from prince.
Modifier of Science/Culture/Faith adjusted at 6% + 2% per era per difficulty starting from prince.

Helping IA to get powerful cities:
Add a modifier of food of 0% + 1% per era per difficulty starting from prince.

I also added 1 difficulty (why not?, I still have to take care of the icon).

PS: Modifications are focus on ancient era start, but there shouldn't be any major problem for another start.

TODO:
Tweak the number after more testing
Increase resource extraction for IA.

Idea:
Reduce player unit XP
Add some scaling in combat strength

Makarya could you possible add this same version but with the extra starting miltary units for the AI? The reason I ask is that I have notice that without the extre military units the AI can just die to barbs. The Ai also gets very passive without them and never declare any war on me.

Yes that's it, as civ is quite snowball and the AI doesn't really how to exploit the huge bonus it stay manageable.

So if I play on King the AI will get 15+10 production/gold per era? That's a really strong bonus in the late game, but might be fair since they start with less than vanilla.

I updated and it should be more coherent with vanilla bonus.
I also removed some bonus which weren't very effective/pertinent and boosted a bit base bonus. There is also now a modifier for tourism (take care).

I still have to make a special rule for barbarian mode.

On a different note, if you play with the new Barbarians mode, barbarians are the biggest challenge in the early game and even more so for the AI. So I think they need the extra warrior.

When it says "Modifier of Production/Gold adjusted at 10% + 5% per era per difficulty above prince." Does it mean that the AI still get the basic 10% bonus on Prince and 20% bonus +5% per era on King?

Because the default bonuses are 20% for prince and 40% for king. https://civilization.fandom.com/wiki/Difficulty_level_(Civ6)

You welcome! I hope it can be fixed, cause most of AI mods are... well... not really good and the only way to fix difficulty progression is a mod like yours. We are stuck on King difficulty because of this settler spam on Emperor.

Doesn't work in multiplayer for me. Me and my partner have both installed it, but no... AI spawns with bonus settler, builder and stuff.
