Description
One of the noteworthy phenomena of XCOM 2 has to do with the abilities Capacitor Discharge and Bombard.

Unlike Combat Protocol, Capacitor Discharge pierces no armor, and although Bombard is an ability Firaxis intended to promote as a free grenade for SPARKs, it neither shreds nor pierces armor like the EMP Grenade.

This mod makes it so that both Capacitor Discharge and Bombard pierce through all armor, and that Bombard is treated as electrical damage.

Furthermore, the Skirmisher's ability, Whiplash, and the Sectopod's ability, Lightning Field, now ignore armor owing to their electrical damage type. Lightning Field has also been buffed to deal damage to friendly source units, meaning that if you hack a Sectopod, it can deal damage to its original allies.

This mod works both mid-campaign and mid-tactical.

Sorry. I tend to make a habit of asking bout mods that have overlapping functions. Sometimes they work great together, like deployable turrets and turret bulwark mods stacking. Wanted to know if these abilities spread to the playable aliens generated mods. Like the sectopod. Or not

@CommanderShepard153 None of my mods have any interaction with those mods whatsoever. If anything, most mods wouldn't. What gives you the impression that they won't play well together?

@krumiro Excellent work! I've never published a vanilla XCOM 2 mod myself, so I have no idea about the process of moving one mod from the X2 SDK → WOTC SDK. Perhaps it would be good practice for the next modpocalypse 😉.

Probably should've mentioned this a few days ago, but Whiplash pierces armor now. No need to do any of that stuff below.

@pdobrzanski You can do that by going into the file directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1396894338\Config" and adding in a file called "XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini" (either with Notepad++ or changing a text document extension name). In that file, write "[XComGame.X2Ability_SkirmisherAbilitySet]
-WHIPLASH_BASEDAMAGE=(Damage=6, Spread=0, PlusOne=0, Crit=0, Pierce=0, Shred=0, Tag="", DamageType="Electrical")
+WHIPLASH_BASEDAMAGE=(Damage=6, Spread=0, PlusOne=0, Crit=0, Pierce=1000, Shred=0, Tag="", DamageType="Electrical")" or whatever pierce value you want. But if you have "Critical Skirmishing" installed as a mod, change the pierce value that is already there instead of in this mod. (The mod ID for that one is 1393922219)
