Description
FIXED 28/05/2018 - see changelog for details

Based on New Urbanist princicples and designed in the contemporary style of Green Cities, this shared street can make your neigborhoods more walkable and cyclable(?) and add a layer of sophistication. Works best in mixed-use, dense areas. Possible use cases: walkable neighborhood, quayside road, gentrified industrial area, metro station access road, old town rejuvenation, entertainment district. Loosely based on the pedestrian streets and shared zones I've visited in Australia, like Hunter St in Newcastle.

This is the shared street version - get the complementary pedestrian path version here.

Known Issues
  • Network Skins can change the trees but not the street lights
  • Pedestrian path texture on both sides may clip on uneven terrain
Some Words
  • One-way, one-lane road
  • *Shared vehicle and bicycle center lane (darker area) - only with After Dark, without After Dark vehicle-only lane
  • Parking spaces on both sides (dotted darker area)
  • Trees, plant pots, benches line pedestrian path (lighter area)
  • Eco street lamps alternate on both sides (correct direction if changed using Network Skins)
  • Stylized zebra crossings at junctions/intersections
  • Bus stop with sign and marked area on left for LHD, right for RHD (dotted red area)
  • Curbless/kerbless
  • 16m (2 tiles) wide right-of-way - 6m pavement on both sides, 2m parking lanes on both sides, 4m shared vehicle and bicycle center lane
  • Ground level only - use vanilla roads or Network Extensions roads for elevated, bridge, slope and tunnel.
  • RHD and LHD supported
  • Speed limit 30 km/h
  • Noise pollution lower than vanilla two-lane road with grass
  • Costs $0.80/cell, upkeep $0.64/cell/wk
  • Found under small roads, look for icon as shown in preview image
Highly Recommended Items
  • Network Extensions 2 - just need this for the tree planter prop; if you don't subscribe everything will still work except you won't have tree planters

@Urbanist -- When I unsubscribe from Network Extensions 2 this asset appears on the LSM report as missing "RoadPlanter1" from NExt2.

Nice road ! Unfortunately, I use a snow fall map. Snow cannot be removed despite the snow removal vehicle :/
