Description
This mod tries to remove The Lost from War of the Chosen.

--- You should disable the "Lost and Abandoned" mission at the start of the game, unless you want to watch it for cinematic appeal. It is quite empty without the Lost. ---

The mod does the following things:
- Removes TheLost and TheHorde SITREPs from the .ini file, so you should not get those SITREPs.
- Replaces TheLost Resistance Op missions with other existing mission types in the .ini file.
- Removes TheLost and TheHorde SITREPs at the start of a mission - in case a mission still got those somehow. *
- Prevent the LostWorld Dark Event from ever appearing. Thanks to a code example by RealityMachina.

* If you play a mission where TheLost would normally spawn, you might still see some of them, but you CAN use explosives etc. Explosions should not spawn more Lost, unless it's hard-coded into the mission.

Known issue:
When a mission is played, where TheLost would normally be present, the game will look for the SITREPs which I removed. This will spam warnings into the log file and debug window. This doesn't affect gameplay as far as I can tell from testing it many times.
I can't do much about the heart-broken game. It should get over it and stop caring about missing Lost.

Compatibilities:
- Can be installed and uninstalled during a running campaign!
- Compatible with any other mod.

Reason for this mod:
I found The Lost interesting for a bit, but it got stale quickly. I don't think they fit well into XCOM and they don't offer any interesting, tactical gameplay.

I'm glad I found this - my computer is a potato and the massive piles of Lost corpses on Lost and Horde missions massively impact my performance. Plus, there's a specific Horde mission - a council op, where you rescue a noncombatant with a bonus unconscious soldier - that has been broken for me for ages. This a good roundabout way of preventing that mission from rolling.

If this is working as advertised (or close to it), this could be my new number 1 favourite mod (Or at least top 10). Cheers!

I agree. I think they would function well however as a random pod during missions, just to mix things up. Unfortunately, The Lost behavior is special and their horde-style movement and spawning mechanism makes it impossible to straight up integrate in the enemies list.

@TOMekbok: I don't remember exacly where the missions are defined. As you can see, I edited XComMissionSources.ini to change the type of mission that gets selected as resistance op. It's all in your windows documents folder in XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config

@atrocious : thanks for the info! I think I managed it, I guess its similiar for removing certain maps too, right?

@TOMekbok: You can remove other sitreps in the same way. If you look at the code of this mod, you can either do this by .ini change or you can do it via script. I did both. All you need to know is the internal name of the sitrep. I'd suggest you download and use notepad++ to search through multiple game files for SITREP_

Hi, could you please help me removing other mission sitreps as well?

Thank you for this mod; deleting the lost makes the old world missions much for stable framerate wise.

@All: Now also preventing the LostWorld dark event from being selected by the game.
