Description
Do you think habitats are unbalanced and overpowered? Do you suspect that your multiplayer save will be ravaged by your would-be friend deciding to build habitats everywhere? Do you hate the AI figuring that SPEHHS infact is the final frontier? Do you find the logistical strain of conquering and managing dozens of AI-built habitats a pain in your slimy xeno-supremacist &@*$?

Well, then you should probably get a different game.

But if you, like me, feel that Stellaris is supreme, then this is the mod for your slimy xeno-supremacist &@*$!

It does what the title says, "no more habitats." It's perfectly save-game compatible (though not achievement-compatible), and does not destroy existing habitats. All this mod does is remove the Voidborne ascencion perk for use both for you, and those pesky aliens, making it functionally impossible to build habitats. If the Voidborne is already selected for any empire in an existing save, it'll simply be replaced with a AP slot.

This mod should be compatible with all mods that don't directly affect the Ascencion Perks.

Now, sally forth, and savour the habitat-free experience like no man, slimy xeno, or fish ever hath before!

Ok then, the changes to Ascension Perks are only to 2.2.6. It was supposed to be released as a final version but they changed to a beta. I will wait for the update then.

It is worthy of note that the current non-beta version is 2.2.5, rather 2.2.6 remains a beta. Thus the update will be limited to the standard version as is, so as aforementioned I'm keeping this mod updated for current versions only.

This is strange, given I did replace the ascension perk file with the post-update one, I'll run some checks then

Hey man, 2.2.6 made changes to Ascension Perks, you forgot to update them. Thanks for your work!

Thanks for updating so quickly!

Paradox updated to 2.2.6! They changed some Ascension Perks, so this mod is outdated.

Filthy Xeno! How dare you remove my beloved habitats which I never use?! Purge this Xeno like the- Wait, we're fanatic egalitarian and fanatic materialist shared burdens? Oh well. Move along.

It wasn't particularly interesting, it's just the usual exclamation mark. Well that was dreadfully uneventful and bland, I was half-hoping everything would collapse, then again, why would it?

Well, thanks for your help! I doubt there's any real need for further testing, given that after the update the mod only edits a single file in a single directory. So in theory the AI should remain completely unaffected.

And since 2.2.5 is in beta I feel it'd likely be better to keep the mod updated to the latest "proper" version if that's alright. Since in practical terms only updates where APs are actually changed will require an update on the mod's part. Plus I don't actually know what happens to a mod if you play and earlier version of the game with it - but I'm about to find out.
