how do i edit trap upgrades/take them away

when i try and edit an upgrade it has no effect in game .. when i delete them .. they are still there ?

once you have earned them, you can't un-earn them. You either start a new character or refund your skulls and buy all your traps and gear again. You can safely refund your skulls without losing a single one. Then buy all the gear you want, and skip on the ones you don't
