Steam Greenlight

Added more genres, languages, and Linux
Based on feedback from a number of threads here, we've made a small change to add a handful of genres to the possible list that developers can tag their games with. These genres are:
  • Shooter
  • Platformer
  • Puzzle
  • Arcade
  • Music
  • Horror

We've also added Norwegian and Portuguese as languages for developers to tag their Greenlight submission with, now fully matching the list of languages supported by Steam.

And finally, we've also added Linux as a target platform since Steam will soon be shipping a Linux client.

thanks. some people were wondering why my game had "brazilian" but not "portuguese" as language options.
Great additions, thanks Valve!

Okay, but where's the genre for the farming simulator/dating sim I'm working on?

I kid, of course. The addition of the horror, puzzle, and platformer genres are all welcome changes.

even though you kid, both of those would pretty clearly go under "simulations", which is already a genre. both of those even have "sim" in their genre name.

I would LOVE it if you guys would add a "Hidden Object" genre. I like point and click adventure games like Book of Unwritten Tales, Whispered World, Gray Matter, Space Quest, Gabriel Knight, etc. but I REALLY dislike Hidden Object games.
