3079 -- An Action RPG
3079 Sequel: 3089 coming!
November 21, 2012 - phr00t

Hey all,

First I want to thank all of my supporters who have voted for 3079 -- I sincerely appreciate it.

I am very happy with 3079 & I know many have been enjoying it. However, I believe many gamers are looking for something more polished, focused & better looking. As a result, I'm working very diligently on the completely new sequel: 3089!

Even though 3079 played nothing like Minecraft, too many gamers confused it with Minecraft clones due to the blocky terrain & characters. So, out with blocky terrain & in with a whole new unique look complete with smooth terrain for 3089. Other big features in the works for 3089 include much deeper quests based on multiple procedurally generated tasks, items & weapons based on customizable parts, dynamic lighting, procedurally generated vehicles, expansion on stealth & melee combat and much more.

I have videos & much more information on this upcoming game on the homepage:

Please take a look & thank you again! You can follow my updates on Twitter:

Eh, I don't think blocky looks are a detriment. I just wanted to distance myself away from Minecraft more. However, if you want to read more about blocky looks and indie games, give a read at this article here:

If having blocky looks was such a detriment, then what's with all the rage surrounding cube world? I think the dev took any minecraft comparisons too seriously.

It ;looks pretty creative and fun. When do you anticcipate having a beta that people can try out?

when does 3089 come out?

The reason minecraft has so many mods and stuff is because there is simply not enough content in it, thats why indie developers see a potential hole filler in the market by producing lets say a 'polished' mod of minecraft. Its not a clone, its just a marketting filler. Dont hate so much.

Read the description before you accuse it of being Minecraft!

Woo! New 30## game! I love the series so far, my only problem with the current game is the fact that the NPCs don't feel like NPCs

The robot arms won't be flailing around randomly, that is just a debug setting :-) I also plan on making the robots less "floaty" and more "stompy". Clouds & tweaks to the buildings are coming too. Anyway, things will improve over time.

I'm probably going to make 3089 a two-player co-op game, but I'm going to hold off on developing the multiplayer portion until the game is nearing completion (since developing multiplayer is rather time consuming & I'd like to have the single-player portion well developed first).

The prototype video certainly looks a bid weird, but i did not waste hours and hours playing 3079 because of it's AAA quality graphics; so as long as you improve on the gameplay aspect me (and my friends that i will bother into buying it) will waste countless hours again playing it singleplayer and coop.

...there will be a multiplayer option again, right?
