One Life
Most Frequent Question about our game
October 15, 2015 - Kefir!

We decided to answer the most frequent question about game One Life:

Originally posted by Gamer:
After watching the trailer, I have the feeling that I’ll buy the game, run around for a couple of minutes and they’ll kill me. Is that true?

The lead game designer of the project is answering the question:

"Well, I would recommend the following tactics: choose the easiest events and locations where you have the lowest chances to meet other players. This way you can easily collect weapons, gain confidence and decide if you are ready for more serious challenges.
You can definitely survive for a long time in the game. That’s not a problem at all if you are a careful player. With smart tactics you can play the game for months.
For example, we are in a firefight and my friend, Josh, gets injured. And I can drag him to a safe place behind cover. If there are three of us, for example, our friend Michael can cover us with fire. Again I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that everyone has only one life, so no one’s going to perform a rocket jump or act silly because that’s dangerous, you can leave the game forever.
So, we’ve dragged our injured pal, revived him and now he can join us in the fight again. From the emotional point of view, that’s just like a real firefight".

Мы решили ответить на самый часто задаваемый вопрос по поводу игры "One Life":

I agree with TINY RICK. I think it would be better if you were gone until the next ''season''

The concept is interesting enough to warrant a purchase, but it would be nice to have "seasons". No one is allowed to play again until there is a last man standing or something.

I'm with Rafien. This enforces strick roleplay elements and keeps the player to a true type of environment.

Can't wait to play either. Rafien, let's team up when this comes out!

Plain bullcrap. Just a way to milk money from people that will buy it more than once. Smart tactics? There will be player who will just search for other players to kill. I have seen this in many games. H1Z1 , DayZ. Make it for 3 months or so. Not perma.

If you're afraid of perma-account-death, A) stop trolling people that would want to kill you off entirely. B) Find friends and stick together.

I love the concept and can't wait to play.

I agree with BillyBooby121, this is just another innovation to make money which is sheyt.

Perma-account-death is bullshit for a paid game. It should be perma-character-death. This is a money-making scam.
Schwzr Oct 16, 2015 @ 2:41am
If you let all other players go to locations where there aren't a lot of players, wouldn't that make it filled with a lot of players? Anyways for me, the idea of permadeath is crap. Permanent character death would be fine like other survival games but man, if you implement the permadeath, a lot of hackers will come in because they're being persuaded to do so just to play the game.
Halfgeek Oct 15, 2015 @ 8:45pm
It would work better with perma character death.

With some RPG elements as well as gear, losing a high level character with good gear is very punishing enough.

But death = account deleted = need to rebuy the game, is crazy hardcore, not sure if there's a big enough audience for that. But I do commend you guys for trying something so insane and novel!

This doesn't ease anything -- the 'injured' state makes it even worse.
Here's a hypothetical scenario to illustrate what I'm talking about. A hacker uses his uber-1337 gatling gun to kill you, goes up to you, and screams "Give me $20, real money, or your character is dead forever!" At which point, you're pretty likely to pay in order to avoid the money you spent on the game going into the shitter.

If that won't motivate you, I'll also add that a permadeath situation is a TERRIBLE business model. Maybe you'll make it so players have to pay a certain amount of money in order to gain access to the game again, but that's extremely dickish.
