Frequently Asked Questions and Thank you's!

It's really great to see Congo be received so well on Greenlight and that's thanks to you guys, so thank you to you all!

There are a few similar questions being asked on the comments section that I feel need to be addressed, so please check down the list. If your question isn't answered, feel free to bring it to my attention in the comments section.

You can also ask us any question or check our progress by following us on Twitter - @CongotheGame

Will there be Mac or Linux / SteamOS support?

We are developing Congo on the Unreal Engine 4, so in theory we should be able to port it to Mac and Linux very easily but currently we have no local means of testing. This will be worked on and we'll keep you updated when we find out more.

How much will Congo cost?

Currently we wouldn't be able to give you a specific, definite price at the moment, but we are aiming to cost it at $9.99 (£6.99).

Why the top-down Camera?

We have noticed a few questions like this on the comments section, or questions asking about why it isn't first person perspective. The top-down camera is fundamental to the game design - it is very important for you and your team to work together and control light in a number of different ways. Having a top-down camera enables you and your team mates to tactically control the distribution of light, whether it's a movable light or a stationary light. Further, it allows you to cover each others backs while our AI system makes you feel as if you are being stalked by the enemy. It also provides the tactical element that allows you to outsmart the enemy in order to prolong your survival.

We also believe the top-down camera adds a fresh element to the tactical, survival genre. We're not the first to do it by any shadow of the imagination, but we love the dynamic it adds to the gameplay and we don't want to create "just another fps".

Is it a Survival game or a Shooter?

Congo is very much a survival game. Ammo is scarce, items are valuable and objectives are hard. The current trailer doesn't necessarily show off this element of the gameplay but it's core to our development. Weapons, fuel, items and ammunition can be found in the deep jungle. You and your team must work together to collect up as many supplies as you can to help survive swarms or defend objectives, and actively plan and strategize using your limited equipment.

Is Congo only in English?

We're a very small team based in the UK and currently Congo will only be in English. It's worth noting that when you get playing, there aren't that many words you will have to read so you won't be at a loss if you can't read English too well. In later stages, translating to other countries may be an option, and if there's anyone who is interested in perhaps translating the game for us after release, we'd be happy to hear from you. Hope this helps answer a few questions!
