Thank you everyone for all of your feedback and support. The launch of Dragon Fin Soup has been quite a roller-coaster ride for all of us. Grimm Bros plans to support Dragon Fin Soup across all platforms and provide updates and new content. We really appreciate all of your feedback and suggestions. We will do our best to make Dragon Fin Soup the best it can be.

Here are the changes and fixes planned for upcoming patch v1.02
(more fixes might be included by the time we distribute this patch)

- fixed fishing bug where the caught fish is not being added to inventory
- fixed hero pushback bug
- added controller improvements
- made blue popups close faster
- Mapped menu to I and ESC (in the next patch v1.03 we will add a new config file where you can completely remap the keyboard to your liking)

- added some new options to _settings.ini (we will later add them to the game config menu but that takes time)
- VSync option
- turn off mouse wheel
- MiniMapZoom on/off
- Camerazoom on/off

- Simple graphics that starts the game with the following settings:
(this feature will help us test issues on some PCs configs that seem to have trouble with the game)
-1024 x 768
-Shaders off
-v sync off
-full screen off
-half textures
-display number 1
-play particles false

Dragon Fin Soup is hand crafted by just 5 indie developers. We did our absolutely best to squash all bugs before launch, but like any complex RPG there may be some still lurking around in the shadows.

Your heard that right! After 3 years of non-stop development by 5 indies, Dragon Fin Soup now has an official launch date and it is a hell of a lot closer than you think. How close, you might ask? So close, you can already smell that sweet, spicy turn-based, procedural, 2D, Rogue-zelda-esque goodness!

No more SOON™! Prepare to receive our rock-hard dates!

Dragon Fin Soup will be served starting on NOVEMBER 3, 2015 on all Sony platforms day of launch (PS3, PS4, PS Vita) through PlayStation Plus, and available for PC through Steam and HumbleBundle - and even more platforms in the future! We have some nice surprises in store for you. :D


We really were itching (like I can’t even) to tell you guys all the news about PS+, but we could not officially make any statements until Sony had released their announcement. Sorry about that; our hands were tied.

As a PlayStation Plus title, Dragon Fin Soup is by no means a Free-to-Play. PlayStation Plus is a paid membership for Sony gamers and partaking in the program will really help spread the word and not get lost in the noise, since Roguelike RPG hybrids tend to be a bit niche :P This will hopefully help us getting the word out and reach people who would not normally buy RPG or RL games.

Not to worry, all of our amazing backers who supported Dragon Fin Soup will of course be receiving all their exclusive extra backer tier goodies! We’ll be doing another announcement regarding physical and digital rewards in our next major update.

Terribly sorry for such a delayed update, BUT we have plenty of news and big announcements to share! :)

Dragon Fin Soup planned to be served in 6 Exciting Flavors: EFIGS+J

Our wonderful partners at Sony think that Dragon Fin Soup should be shared with all gamers, everywhere! (Or as many as a humble little indie like us can manage.) Therefore, we are excited to announce that Dragon Fin Soup is being translated and localized into English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Japanese!

Believe it or not, this is actually a HUGE undertaking. Depending on the language there is around 75,000 words to translate! All of this work is being done by Randis, Ash, and five translators. Each translator is a native speaker and have all worked on several games in the industry. We have been working on the translations for months now and there’s tons of content to edit and proofread. To top it all off, Ash is dyslexic and English is Randis’s THIRD language. You get the idea…

Squish, squish, squish, go the bugs - QA Team Expose!

As mentioned in our last update, we have created a Grimm Bros QA Lab at the Philly Game Forge[phillygameforge.com] and recruited college students to find and squash bugs, help us balance the game, and make sure DFS is a savory experience. But who in the world are these insane mysterious individuals really?

Who are these guys?!

Our “Evil Minions” are in fact Drexel College[www.drexel.edu] students doing a summer co-op internship with Grimm Bros. Our dedicated QA Team has been testing almost daily since mid March and has spent an estimated 1200+ hours doing extensive QA playtesting on multiple platforms, writing up reports for the dev team and supporting Ash on the PR and Production side of things.

Lets meet our hard working QA Team shall we?

Dragon Fin Soup is scheduled to officially launch on STEAM PC, PS4, PS3, and PS Vita... ALL AT THE SAME TIME!! Whaaa!?!

So most indies like us typically release on one platform at a time, such as STEAM or iOS in English and then do staggered ports to other platforms over time. It is pretty crazy and almost unheard of for a 5 person indie team, on their first RPG title, to even attempt to launch on 4 major platforms in 6 different languages worldwide! But Sony has faith in us as veteran team and we have a great partner with BlitWorks[blitworks.com] who are working hard on the Sony platforms.

Due to all of the localization and ongoing QA efforts on PC, PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, our partners at Sony have requested we take just a bit more time to proofread, double-check the languages, and conduct additional extensive playtesting on all platforms to ensure DFS is the best we can possibly make it. Our new launch window is now scheduled for Fall 2015. We seriously appreciate your understanding.

To give you a sense of scope of Dragon Fin Soup, our current QA Team estimates put DFS as over 60+ hours of gameplay in Story, Survival and Labyrinth mode combined. And as mentioned before we have roughly 75,000 words that are being translated in 6 languages. That is a TON of content to test and triple-check!

Exact official launch date will be announced to you once we receive confirmation from Sony. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and support. As an indie, giving you our best means everything to us.
