Valcarta: Rise of the Demon

It's been a very long time coming, and after some ups and downs, Valcarta: Rise of the Demon's release is hopefully right around the corner.

While there was artwork posted up here before, unfortunately it could not be completed by the artist and I have had to revert back to stock assets from RPG Maker MV (it better suited the story and characters).

The screenshots you see now are accurate representations of some eventless maps, the equip menu at both high and low levels, some of the writing, and some combat!

While the combat trailer has the old art within it, gameplay itself hasn't changed, so it will remain posted.
There will be a new trailer coming soon, an official release trailer with gameplay, story details, etc. along with the official release date!

I hope those who were interested are still interested in this game even after all of the changes and time that has gone by. Its been a long trip, but I am hoping to deliver a good RPG.

We've made a short little trailer showing off a grand overview of the new combat system that can be found in the Steam version of Valcarta: Rise of the Demon when it is released. Date is still pending, but we are drawing much, much closer! Enjoy!

Attached to the Greenlight page you will now find a new video showing off some of the new maps that can be found in the new version of Valcarta:Rise of the Demon which will be available soon. Within this video you will also find of maps from the original verison that have been completely overhauled! I hope this little tidbit gets everyon excited!

Just letting you guys know that our major overhaul of the game is coming along nicely.

Almost all of the original maps of the game are being redone.
Adding custom art for Characters during talking, enemies in battle and even some sprites
We are also elaborating on each and every scene in the original game, increasing the level of detail and the expanding the exposure to the world and it's lore through the natural and optional game progression.
After all of these changes, it is looking like the games length will be changing. With the higher level of detail in the scenes, the difficulty of bosses and the reduction of 'grindy-ness", and brand new mapping (new look and feel of zones and also zone-wide mechanics/mini-puzzles) we will likely hold true to the 20hrs per path, but it may end up being longer! We will be sure to keep you updated on the games progress.
As it stands, we are looking to have this all wrapped up and ready to relaunch by late July. We are currently #53 on Greenlight, which is wonderful! Within the next month, we hope to be able to show off our progress to you in the form of a trailer so that you can see the massive changes we have made to the game compared to the original post.

Hello everyone,

As we are in the top 100 on Steam Greenlight with Valcarta: Rise of the Demon, we figured it was a good time to go back and take a look at it and apply all the criticism we had recieved overed the past year. With the game itself being only minorly successful, we thought that giving the game a massive overhaul would be a good way to also drive in more customers to come and enjoy the Valcarta world.
With that said, here are some screenshots and details of the massive Valcarta: Rise of the Demon overhaul that is slated to be complete within the next 3 months!

New Features:
Combat has changed to a front view system.
Now using RPG Make VX Ace
Some maps have been completely redone (Fairy Forest, Leviathan's Shrine, etc.)
Improvements to Scenes within the game
Custom art made by Mikheli for Characters and Enemies
Overall useability improvements and bug fixes.
Story clean up and structure overhaul for more clarity
Character clean up and personality strengthing

When the overhaul is complete, all customers who have already purchased the game will have their downloads re-activated so that they can experience the game in it's new skin. Don't worry though, it's the same game, it just looks and feels a lot nicer than it did before!
I hope these improvements will peek the interest of those who have not yet purchased to do so and will bring back old players to re-play the game again! We will continue to release more information on this overhaul as we get closer to it's completion. Please look forward to it!
