Cook, Serve, Delicious!
September 28, 2013 - chubigans

I'm happy to announce that Cook, Serve, Delicious will be launching on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux on October 8th for $8.99 (10% off for one week only)! The store page is now live:

Since my last update detailing the new features of CSD for Steam I've added fifty new spam emails, more options and improved game performance even further. I can't wait till launch! Woo!

A special topic has been created on how to obtain your Steam key for those who have already purchased the desktop version. You can find the details as I get them here:

Thanks everyone for all the votes, and here's to a fun launch!

I only get one chance to release this game on Steam, and I want to make it the biggest release ever. To do that, I'm adding a ton of new features into Cook, Serve, Delicious that I'd like to run through today.

Key Binding Support

One of the biggest changes to the game, and in many respects a game changer for some foods. It was very difficult binding some specific keys to certain ingredients, and I know that there were some foods people avoided (such as Pizza) simply because the keys were not assigned to a natural layout. But that all changes now, as you can change every single food, chore and event to whatever key map you want!

The CookBet App

Early in the game you will receive an email from a hacker who's gone into your email client and installed a new "Bet" button. This new menu gives you a completely randomized betting scenario each day, with thousands of possible combinations. Using your new Silver Ticket currency you can choose to enter into a bet or wait and see what the next day brings. Harder-to-cook foods bring extra bonus multipliers (such as the Shish Kabob which has a huge 4x multiplier!) These are tough challenges that should really only be tried by the best cooks out there, so good luck!

UI Improvement, New Engine and More Options

There's been quite a few small changes I've been wanting to add to the PC/Mac/Linux versions for quite some time. First off, the UI is getting streamlined a bit to help the flow of going through menus faster and easier (mainly repositioning some elements, etc.) There will also be some new options including turning the Rush Hour text flash on and off, practicing chores, and selecting your Cook4Luv dating preference at any time via the Options menu. Finally, the PC build will be updated to the GMStudio version of the game, which allows for much better upscaling when going full screen, a smaller memory footprint and faster load times.

Steam Achievements, Trading Cards

I'm also supporting Steam with full achievement support (nearly 50 achievements in all!). These achievements will help you keep track of all the craziness and chaos of the game as you progress through your career!

Trading cards will also be supported, with up to eight in all to collect.

These new changes really makes Cook, Serve, Delicious! the best version of the game ever released. I'm so excited and can't wait until it's available! I'm shooting for an early October release at $9.99. Those who have purchased the PC/Mac/Linux versions will be eligible for a free Steam key very shortly after launch. I'll post an announcement once a final date is set!

Holy cow, the day has come that I never, ever thought would ever happen ever. But here we are, CSD is greenlit! Woooooo!

As you can imagine I've been pouring through Steam SDK docs today as I want to support as many Steam features as possible. I'll have more to announce next week in terms of what will be new in this Steam release, as well as details about getting a key if you've bought the game already. My target is to get the game out by Sept/Oct, but I'm unfamiliar with how releases work on Steam so we'll have to wait and see.

More details next week, and thanks again everyone for all the support! We did it!

Hooray! I'm proud to announce that Cook, Serve, Delicious is now available on Google Play for Android! It's taken a bit to get it on the platform but I wanted to ensure that it would be the best port possible across a variety of devices. It also includes more than twenty Google Play Achievements and Leaderboard support!

You can download a demo of the game as well as purchase the full copy for a limited time only price of $2.99! Enjoy!

Hey folks! The Humble Store has accepted the game on their platform! You know them as the creators of the Humble Bundle, and now you can purchase CSD and have the game tied to your existing Humble account! How awesome is that?

Purchasing the game through the Humble Store gives you access to the Windows/Mac/Linux version, DRM free. I'm really excited about partnering up with them and I hope we can continue to do business in the future!
