@FootsiesPajamies - The only updates I should talk about is that i'm going to put this up for Early Access for a cheap price very soon (as soon as I finish an endless mode) before releasing it fully for a little under 10 bucks. As for the Early Access release, i'm just polishing some stuff up now as well as the store page before releasing it on Steam.

@FootsiesPajamies - Yes! Development is coming along nicely (feature-wise), story still needs some work. Also, the soundtrack is being produced by SoulEye, the soundtrack producer of popular indies titles like VVVVVV!

Well so far it's been very motivating to see how many people want this game. I'm currently Rank #5 on Greenlight! If I get greenlit, i'm going to pour all of my resources into finishing this game completely. If I don't, i'm going to slowly finish my other projects an apps to help free up time to work on this. I really want to work full time on this and make it the best!

@TheCriticChiken - Well 10 dollars I figured would be reasonable given how much features this game will have. Fully voiced games usually range around that price. If it gets accepted on Greenlight, i'll offer a preorder/early game access price that everyone get to test it out, and not feel cheated if they don't like it.

@qberty No problem :3, and no offense to your game, I'm sure it would be worth it, but for me 10-14 dollars is a bit much :/. You see, good sir, I am only 15 and low on cash, so when I can buy a game it's usually for about 4-6 pounds. 9 dollars, yes I would pay (doesn't seem like much of a difference from 10 but it's a lot to me =3)

Voted, looks awesome, played Hacker Evolution, Uplink and Onlink and this, although the graphics are minimalistic, that's not the most important thing, gameplay is, so can't say much without playing it for myself but still can't wait! Also, how much do you plan to sell the game for? And lastly, I will share this game everywhere I can to help speed up the Greenlight process. Although I'll try not to attract 7 year old COD players that just want to mess stuff up in multiplayer and make the community bad :)

@MEGA2003 - Well this game in particular hasn't gotten enough "Yes" votes because of two things. 1. I have no put up a trailer/demo for it yet. And 2. I don't advertise this game at all. Not even a little bit. Not even my direct family hear me talk about it unless they ask ME. Marketing is important for indie games like this.

@Alex -This game isn't dumbing anything down. It's creating an alternate "easier" to understand interface on top of what you can do in a terminal. Nothing is being taken away from what you do if you KNOW what you're doing, but if you're an average/casual gamer who doesn't deal with terminals and consoles on a daily basis, I'm making the pinnacle of this game to be it's easy to understand and use interface.

If you want realism, and philosophically sound accurate game play, you can try Hacker Evolution, but you'll never really get what you are looking for. This type of game already isn't very profitable for most game companies. Anyone who is too technical won't want a "dumbed down" game. And anyone who isn't technical at all won't want a complex game with multi-layered k-level thinkers.

@Alex - I don't know if you actually DO any penetration testing. But I do professionally. And though more cores and higher GHz may not be "better" in that sense. It's faster. I'm not going to include multiple different CPU architectures to mimic real life as that would just be over complicating things. The hardware you buy in the game is going to represent the best type of each class and rank. 100 Gbit/s connections are used a lot of times. Especially for hacking using specific methods. Majority of the upgrades are exactly what they are. And Upgrade. They aren't required but they help you do things faster.

The whole point of this game is to get in and get out with what you need. Why not have hardware that will speed up the process? Also I don't think classifying what is "needed" for hacking would determine what would be easy to use and intuitive for a game.

@qberty I was not talking about which parts you needed, more about what they actually do and how they impact what you do. For example: more cores and higher Ghz != better. In most of the cases your purchase is based on CPU architecture instead. Also, when would you ever need a 100Gbit/s connection for hacking?

I don't know the full scope of this game, but it's things like that which struck me as "dumbing it down" a bit, and I have no problems with it. I know you can't really get too technical in a game that people without any knowledge about these things will play.

@Alex - Well if you're talking about hardware. It technically is that simplistic. If you were to order a cloud computer anywhere, or host a dedicated server. You'd literally only need to specify and configure/pay for those important hardware parts.

If you're talking about the game as whole, well like I said in a lot of previous comments, it's very difficult to balance simplicity with realism when it comes to a game that is based on something so complex.

Looks interesting but description of the things you need in the game to hack sounds a bit "simplistic". I guess there's no need to explain how the different hardware parts actually works though. It just feels like many people will get the wrong impression by this. :P

@plaza2028 - It's merely a game, you're not actually going to be hacking in to real computers. However, it's based on what real hacking techniques are, with a couple of exceptions I had to make in terms of time/speed. For example, when bruteforcing a password (randomly guessing all combinations of possible password). In real life this would normally take from 1 minute to 20 years depending on how complicated the password is. In the game, for specific time tasks like this, I speed it up to get around that issue so it takes less than a minute.

This makes it a little less realistic, but I highly doubt anyone would sit at the game and wait a possible 20 years for a password to be guessed successfully. :)
