It's a funny coïncidence, I was actually thinking yesterday that making wobbling-moutain lines could be an option, and not very hard to implement.
However there is a constant struggle between making shiny things everywhere AND not distracting the player while he is playing. The balance between those two points isn't easy.
I'll probably work on more background visualization during the Early Access phase.
(As for the trails reacting to the music, I've already tried a few things, and it wasn't very good compared to the static one.)
