The sprite work for the environments is a bit lacking, and the character looks a bit too heavy, and slow for a metroidvania style game, but there's definitely potential, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

WoV on the medium difficulty wasnt too tough, so I hope there will be a difficulty similar to those:
Tough platforming, fun boss fights, however you can take some hits and do some mistakes without dying. :)

If it is going to be even harder, fine by me, but if it is going to have various difficulty settings, I hope those won't be built the same wasy WoV ones were. There should have been 5 modes instead of three, because the gaps in difficulty are way too severe, I stuck with mortal mode because of my pride, but I imagine someone switching to angel at some point because they may want to have more HP to deal with bosses easier and get greeted by completely trivial platforming and extremely weak bosses in some cases.
There should have been a mode in between those two. Sure you can attempt angel+doomed, but then again, on angel the bosses aren't very consistent trying to flawless them, some are pushovers, while others, mostly the ones in the middle of the game, are about as hard as on mortal.
So if the game is going to have varied difficulty settings, I hope you don't fall into the same pit again and make them better this time.

To all the people hoping for this game to be significantly easier than Vi: For everey good hard game there are at least 50 good easy ones. You can just play those. This one has been described as challenging since way before it was on greenlight so I really don't know why you are hoping it won't be difficult. That's like ordering fish and hoping to receive milk instead. I for one have been hyped for this game for what feels like forever and I can't wait to play through all the impossible bullshit that Solgryn decides to dish out!

Is this gonna be like Wings of Vi, where you die 100 times on one puzzle but still have fun, or something new? As in, is it gonna be insanely difficult.

That being said, the combat can be very complex in terms of combos you're able to do, but they're not mandatory in any way. You could beat the game just spamming away heavy attacks; but it'd be less optimal - not capitalizing on the hits you do get.

The combat is most like the marvel games, there's stun scaling, as well as many familiar fighting game mechanics under the hood. Tthere's no pre-canned combos; but Roah's fighting style is premade - the attacks that she has. On top of that you'll get magic attacks that can be used in combos but not necessarily, mostly used for ranged combat.

As far as button layout there's just 2 attacks button, with directional input like Super Smash Brothers making different attacks come out. One button is for medium attacks and one is for heavy attacks that are more situational.

Combat has no influence on actual combat, and there's no "pixel perfect" jumps - although that was never the case, with the exception of boshy I guess at some spots, but I was 16 when I made that :B. The platforming overall wont be as crucial, I want it to be more about exploring, the combat and puzzles within the platforming; not the execution as much as something like boshy.

Just how complex the whole fighting elements are going to be?
Will it be something simple as just 15 or so combos or full scale fighting game style with a LOT more.
And how much is that going to affect platforming?
A 5 or so button input combo to get a little extra jumping distance to barely make a mandatory jump wouldn't be the most intuitive thing to ever do.

@Below - Wings of Vi was nowhere near as hard as Dark Souls IMO, and Boshy was basically designed to be unfair. He said Roah would be easier and more accessible than past games.

What's the point. Your just gonna make this game harder than the Dark Souls series just like your other games. Challenge is good don't get me wrong. That's why I play (and enjoy) Dark souls BUT dieing at the same areas well over 1,000 times isn't my idea of fun.

I'm going to sound like a bad/hateful person, but the thing that turned me off of wanting to play WoV was that it had no animation for the character attacking. I felt that somewhat ruined the suspension of disbelief.
I didn't leave negative feedback for that game as I felt my judgement was a bit poor and I would be biased due to personal reasons. Being an artist/designer, I understand that video game making is tedious and difficult and time consuming.

However, I saw the first few seconds of Roah video's above (literally 10-15 seconds), and I was instantly sold on giving this game a try. I actually wanted to congratulate you on coming up with a eye-pleasing combat format.
