aw man, this looks really promising. Cant find other mods that do this. Please recommend here if you find other mods
Ev Aug 25, 2018 @ 4:47pm
What was your first clue? The fact that if you download it says outdated, the fact that it was last updated June 1st of 2016, or the fact that the two comments directly before yours addressed that?
Brisbane Socialist Aug 25, 2018 @ 2:25am
Is this outdated
Ev Oct 5, 2017 @ 1:49pm
No. Would require some pretty heavy edits.
Deadeye_7 Oct 5, 2017 @ 10:58am
is this still playable? i mean does it still work after all this time without a update?
Kepos Sep 1, 2017 @ 4:54am
Great idea. Unfortunately I'm getting underscore_txt bug playing localized. Would it be possible to simply copy/paste English expression for all other localizations?

Hay Like-A-Stone, here are some suggestions for types of governments to add.
Corporatocracy (Jennifer Government) (Corps Of Engineers, Orbital Privatization)
Constitutional Monarchy
Theocratic Republic (Iran)
Theocratic Absolute Monarchy (Saudi Arabia)
Singapore-Style Democracy (Guided Democracy) (These are the weird hybrid blend of traits in order to have this type of government since this is the only country i can think of that is as close as you can get to having the best of both worlds without any of the flaws. Authoritarian. Not Fanatic Authoritarian, Fanatic Authoritarians would never allow the slimmer of plurality that Singapore allows, Materialist, Egalitarian.)
Oligarchic Republic (Republic Of Rome, Republic Of Carthage, America)
CoolAidApocalypse Jul 28, 2017 @ 2:12pm
Hey! First of all, love the concept of your mod, but I have a couple of questions.

First all - save game compability? or is it only on galaxy generation?

Secondly - I'm looking forward to my crown princess succeding in establishing her shadow council within my empire in a few years, Would probably make for a really cool mod if i bothered writing in the console commands you need to pull off to accomplish it.

(if anyone wonders, i've added a hidden monthly influence leech (through random event text box) which when it reaches 250 reforms your government randomly (beyond ethic restrictions even) and either adds the heir to the rulers traits (they co-operate) or outright succeeds him)

If possible, I'd love to work together with you on this. I have the concept, the "story", and all text boxes already done, but no "real modding" so to say.
Ev May 12, 2017 @ 7:51am
Well I mean, did you expect anything else? It hasn't been updated in almost a year now. I could fork an 'update' for it again since this mod works by just overwriting the existing policies, but given that Stone has been silent on the matter I still feel pretty bad about doing it.
Amerakee May 11, 2017 @ 7:23pm
BUG Currently overwrites the new empire-wide policies. Unable to change food stockpiling or refugee status (for example) with this mod enabled.
platous May 8, 2017 @ 12:20pm
Update pls ! :D :steamhappy:
Rohzdear Apr 14, 2017 @ 5:21pm
Really liked this mod. I'd be nice if you updated to 1.5.1
isiarca Jan 19, 2017 @ 12:17pm
Any news?
Ev Nov 7, 2016 @ 7:10pm
Zandor, 1.3 saw the mod directory moved from the previous location to a new one: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\281990 on Windows 7. The steps should (mostly) sitll be the same, just with that new filepath. However, the update also made several changes to other policies, which I've updated on an internal version that I myself use, but I'm still waiting for Stone's permission before I do anything with it.
Zandor Nov 7, 2016 @ 5:05pm
@Ev Hmm.. Ihave tryed the fix but its not working... still only economy-changes. But evrything is fine, if I deactivate Stones Expansion. So I think its deffinetly this mod. I did evrything like you sayed and checked more then twice... is the fix still working?
Ev Oct 24, 2016 @ 2:42pm
I could probably update this again, with Stone's permission.
Madman X Oct 14, 2016 @ 2:09pm
Update Please
FiveK777 Sep 18, 2016 @ 12:25am
hey man whats the current situation on the update?
R3CTANGLE Aug 7, 2016 @ 1:32pm
Thanks EV
Ev Aug 4, 2016 @ 11:57pm
If you haven't seen it already, I posted a temporary fix for war policy on the previous page. I dunno what's been going on with Stone but it should work in the meanwhile.
cvnka Aug 4, 2016 @ 8:36pm
Any word on the update, yet?
That Feel When Aug 4, 2016 @ 8:02am
@Like_A_Stone Get well soon bro!
JurisDocta Jul 24, 2016 @ 2:36pm
@Ev: the trick is to have a governor other than your homeworld gov which the game doesn't count for heir purposes. Didn't even need to change it :).
Ev Jul 23, 2016 @ 9:24am
Glad to hear you're doing better, Stone. Sorry to the rest of you that I wasn't able to find a satisfactory fix for the communist gov't type, but I'm glad I was able to help some 28 of you with being able to actually fight wars again.
Knight 'Pink from the Outset' Jul 22, 2016 @ 6:19pm
@Like_A_Stone what do you study?
Like_A_Stone  [author] Jul 21, 2016 @ 2:30pm
My apologies, I'll have the updaet out on Sunday. I've had a health issue and grad school work, but I will push the update Sunday. Thanks for your patience!
Solendar Jul 21, 2016 @ 2:24pm
Please update this soon.
Stoic⁧⁧Sirius Jul 21, 2016 @ 9:30am
when will it update?
JurisDocta Jul 17, 2016 @ 6:52pm
Maybe I'll try to allow generals as well.
Ev Jul 17, 2016 @ 5:39pm
It seems to happen when leaders are generated for elections from leader_class = ruler. I tested it with a different government type that uses the same kind of elections, and the moment I killed off all of my empire leaders, the newly generated ones had no traits. Communist dictatorships don't elect any leaders from a class other than leader_class = ruler, so I suppose it makes sense that the ones generated for the election have no traits. I have no idea how I'd go about fixing it, but I might meddle with some things. Worst case scenario maybe I'll modify the gov't type so that other leaders can be elected instead of leader_class = ruler.
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 16, 2016 @ 8:08pm
@JurisDocta @Ev I do not have that bug, but I know others do. P.S. Thanks Ev
JurisDocta Jul 16, 2016 @ 7:04pm
@Ev, any fixes for Ruler traits not showing up (On Communist Successors)?
Ev Jul 15, 2016 @ 7:11pm
I have no idea why Steam has decided those filepaths are websites. They are not websites, they are filepaths. Hopefully Stone recovers from his ailments soon, but that should tide you over in the meantime.
Ev Jul 15, 2016 @ 7:10pm
Here's a quick temporary fix in lieu of an update. I make no promises that it'll perform to expectations, but at the very least you should be able to properly declare war again.

1) Go to your Stone Politics installation folder, which should be something like Stellaris\workshop\content\281990\690755908

2) Open up stone_politics.zip with 7zip (you can probably do it with other programs too, but I personally use 7zip)

3) Navigate to stone_politics.zip/common/policies/ and delete 00_policies.txt (Keep the program open)

4) Create a new text file with the same name (00_policies) and copy the contents of this paste data into it: http://pastebin.com/wE1zqFJ3

5) Save it as a txt file, and place the file in stone_politics.zip/common/policies/

6) Enable the mod in your launcher and play the game

NOTE: This replaces War Economy as per Asimov with the war policy. It -should- work with existing Asimov savegames, but it might take a few ingame days for the change to register.
Jon Jul 12, 2016 @ 4:53pm
I assumed that it might not be save-game compatible because in my experience (admittedly, the vast majority of my modded gaming has been on Skyrim), adopting and/or removing mods mid play can be a really bad idea---and after I got the War Economy thing, removing the mod didn't fix my save game, so I had to re-roll. That's why I assumed.
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 12, 2016 @ 12:18pm
@jr1125a It was supposed to come out yesterday, but it was delayed. It updates on it's own. And why do people keep considering that it's not save-game compatible? He also probably delayed it because of something going on irl or just some polishing to try and rid the mod of more bugs.
Jon Jul 12, 2016 @ 7:29am
Awesome. So when it updates, will it update automatically for me, or do I have to unsubscrbe and then subscribe again, or something? Also, I'm going to guess that this isn't save-game compatible, but if it is, let me know.
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 11, 2016 @ 4:55pm
mod update*
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 11, 2016 @ 4:55pm
@jr1125a That is an effect of the mod being outdated. It adds policies, which can certainly cause trouble when it comes to the others, especially when they change. This shouldn't be a problem much longer, as the mod will release today. I also mentioned it in the "Bug Reports" section, another person as shared the issue.
Jon Jul 11, 2016 @ 4:46pm
Using this mod makes "War Economy" still appear, and limits "War Philosophy" to "Ballanced." I can't declare wars to cede planets, vassalize, or make a tributary.
Vitorion Jul 11, 2016 @ 4:04pm
Is this compatible with the Free Government Creation mod?
James009 Jul 7, 2016 @ 11:49am
Just wanted to say, just played with the mod yesterday and it is excellent. Keep up the good work!

Cannot wait to see events. Heck, if anyone has a guide on how to make events I might even start writing some to help out.
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 6, 2016 @ 5:58pm
@Like_A_Stone Glad to hear it, hope you're ok.
Like_A_Stone  [author] Jul 6, 2016 @ 4:26pm
The update for this mod will be out Monday, July 11. Sorry for the delay. I have had a concussion and grad school assignments due.
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 6, 2016 @ 2:18pm
@Baleur Why wouldn't it? All other mods work for them, including this mod, when not even updated. Only problem is that I can't adjust War Philosophy, I did tests, it's because this isn't updated, but it's not that big a deal.
Baleur Jul 6, 2016 @ 7:01am
Cant wait =D Does it work on existing saves?
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jul 2, 2016 @ 2:02pm
@Chara Who wouldn't?
cvnka Jul 2, 2016 @ 12:30pm
Excited for the update :3
Ǝl Unıcɐnnıbɐl dɐ Fəbulo Jun 30, 2016 @ 7:02pm
@gabychish It is compatible, I have used both mods together (including other mods similiar) and my game is running perfectly fine, even on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc.
