update please!???

My only issue with this map is that for some reason it doesn't seem to be running in straight lines, so when I go to make grids (my preferred way of building) they eventually get lopsided and the zoning freaks out.

@Gator13 (nnosound), if you build the bridges high enough, the ships do not clip through them. https://youtu.be/QjLAxXGXB1w

Why when the game finishes loading the screen is cut off at the bottom and the part that isn't cut off is all blue?
codewitch Aug 18, 2022 @ 10:07pm
@Chief Yep, you can use my "Fixed" version... https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2156384823

Train lines broken? They just pile up trying to leave the city. Any solutions available?
unmog Aug 14, 2022 @ 8:23pm
Maybe its just me, but I was excited to play an "easy" map where everything was flat... but for some reason this map is insanely difficult to balance the budget. I start off deep in debt and it gets worse the more I try to expand. I'm not sure why... is it because of the highway being inside the first tile? I've tried cutting the road budget in half but I just cant seem to get more taxes than what I'm spending. Any tips? What am I doing wrong? I didnt have this problem playing the maps that come standard with the game...
goti Jun 24, 2022 @ 10:04am
whats the map theme?
Koweechi Dec 12, 2021 @ 4:08pm
great until you realize the highways aren't all 90°
jamesgkrk Nov 6, 2021 @ 3:19am
This would be perfect with an ocean in 1 of the corners

GREAT MAP!
but be wary of the ship line. if you're into realism, pay attention to where the ships are going. they will clip right through bridges and things you have placed on the river.
other than that? GREAT MAP!
it's flat and perfect for building. had to adjust a few freeways to my liking.
i have had no issues with industrial zones. right now i have a high demand for it and im working on it.

It's a great map to build gigantic city and test out road map but there is a problem where in mine there are no demand for industrial or office zone. Is it a problem of the map or the game?
bikerboyz_1987 Jul 5, 2021 @ 2:32am
great map, but when I start building the roads and houses with shops I don't get a demand for the industrial area am I doing something wrong?
celdaran Jun 18, 2021 @ 8:38pm
I haven’t started building yet, so this review may be premature. But I love this map. I see a lot of promise ahead.

This map has a ship lane...
My Pet Named Steve Feb 6, 2021 @ 7:41pm

Thank you so much for this map! I truly enjoy building a city on this flatland! Makes it more fun when you just want to build and not worry about too much

@Mulleboy - thank you for the privilege of opportunity, it was my first time making significant changes to a map. Here's my first attempt, for better or worse:

This is a great map, I just tried to improve on some parts I didn't like and always found myself changing.
codewitch Jul 2, 2020 @ 9:46am
If nothing else, I was only moderately annoyed at the ships colliding with the bridges :X
Mulleboy  [author] Jul 2, 2020 @ 2:17am
@asterisk11231: Post your modded version on Steam Workshop (call it "Flatlands 2.5 Better Highway" or something) and I'd gladly link it in the description.
codewitch Jul 2, 2020 @ 1:09am
I'd personally like to collab with the author @Mulleboy or have permission to post a modified one, that was more-so directed at them. That said I'll look to see if I'm settled on the version I have (or if I'm still wishy-washy) about it, and I'll take a look at a private (unlisted? Google docs? Github?) version in the interim. I think my highway fix is good is some regards (fixing the train stops thru highways, keeping it elevated near bridges, raising the bridge level so boats don't clip), but I haven't quite got the initial area to where I wanted it.
LaconicRed Jul 1, 2020 @ 11:02pm
asterisk11231, grateful if you would share your version of this map.
codewitch Jun 22, 2020 @ 2:38pm
I almost always change out the highways, the main interchanges are a bit close to the river and bridges, the bridges clip ferries and cruise ships w/o creating elevated roads and changing over bridges to them, and the starting area is cramped with the 3-way interchange placement and overall efficiency. There's "arable land" in the river area that can be (oddly) accessed through raising the terrain. It can be sometimes be dull, and it has no shore (which, for IRL summer/sunset harbor I have a current predereliction to), and limited fish types, and some of the 81 tiles area are a little less than flat IIRC, which I use for an international airport layout

That said, it's an excellent, simple map great for building with no too much concern for terrain difficulties, which really mess with the grid system in CSL. Like, it's simple - 10/10.

I created my own local version with a better/simpler highway system and can share it with you privately if you'd like.
Fyra'Nok May 21, 2020 @ 1:18pm
This one looks like a suitable replacement for the map that I would still rank the highest, Orechasm.
If you know of similar powerplay/fantasy maps feel free to suggest :)
LawDawg Apr 25, 2020 @ 2:33pm
@Priyon , raise the sea level? Or are you saying the water is litterally too deep?
rossc007 Apr 11, 2020 @ 3:30am
Big thumbs up here, for this map
E Apr 7, 2020 @ 1:56am
I wish there was a version of this map with a slightly lower land height. This one is almost perfect but the river is rather too deep.

Would it be just perfect for turning this into a Well-Developed Town? I face terrain as a problem a lot of times. Great Map! :D
DakotaDad214 May 1, 2019 @ 11:36pm
Could we get a screenshot of resources and a birds eye view of the tiles?
Lordgod Mar 4, 2019 @ 8:15am
I just did 4 cities on this map, going to do a 5th one soon. This is a very simple map for any level of building in this game. I just hit 3k hrs :steamhappy: nice work Mulleboy
