This break for anyone else? Had to disable it then my game worked just fine.

black menu screen would leave a log one could use to figure out the actual cause
as it cant be prepatcher when prepatcher is inactive
it usually means something prevented full startup or errored the menu gui

That being said, could be that for whatever reason some mod just broke with regards to harmony and prepatcher by extension, which is weird as my modlist was working just perfectly fine the day prior to all of that.

Also, since Prepatcher is a version of Harmony, that would mean it might also be a problem with Harmony as well. That and it would take a while to filter through every single last mod to guess whichever one might be having an issue.

I even went to the workshop folder for Prepatcher to delete it but it seems it didn't work.

Figured to try and reinstall Rimworld, only now I got to wait till the workshop has all the mods confirmed installed and such and attempt it again

No, I mean I have Prepatcher subbed to, then I noticed it having an issue when enabled, figured unsubing and resubing would fix it. Only it didn't.

@Tyrant at the time prepatcher runs the wrong assembly would already be loaded
while technically possible implementing that would be rather high effort compared to... just unsubscribing to the old mod
@Bearzapt34 prepatcher doesnt cause such issue

@Tyrant, is this specifically is causing the prepatcher to cause other patch mods not to work? Is there a fix on our end? Which is why im here

Feature Request
Allow mods to define a <prepatcherId>rename.to.this.pkgid</prepatcherId> element within About.xml, which, during the prepatching procedure, renames the packageId of the mod to the given value.
Use-Case
Because RimWorld loads things based off packageId, subscribing to more than one item with the same packageId becomes problematic. Forks would be able to have a different packageId while remaining compatible with mods that target the original packageId.

So when I quit my efforts last time it didn't start. Now I just clicked the game and it started without issue.

I spend time repeating the exact same thing in the weekend and could not get it to work, now it seem fine. I am very confused but I think the error must been on my side somehow.

So the good parts is my game is running and your mod is working. The bad part is that I overwrote the bad start player.log and oldplayer.log with logs from working starts.

So I thank you for your support effort and get back to you if I manage to replicate the problem. I am rather curious about this.

This mod stopped loading with a blank main menu just stuck with picture background.

1.6: Same issue with this mod from steam, this mod from the GIT and the old 1.5 version.
Tested with only this mod and nothing else. Also tested with prepatcher, Harmony, performencefish1.5 and fishery1.5

All produce the result above

@Wolves Hero If you're using RimSort check if it placed Prepatcher after Harmony, i had a very similar error and found out RimSort's autosort was putting Prepatcher after it, and it caused that same error you had

thats not how the mod manager reads that generally
it reads the tag in the about file
you can see this with a number of mods not even having versioned files
the 1.6 assembly is in the root file section
which rimworld is fully setup to read

FYI you forgot to add a 1.6 file for the mod so the mod manger says it is not compatiable for 1.6

The issue was with the pawns in the caravan. It seemed like all of them were trying to do something and causing errors, if I remember right(at work currently) it was related to them talking to each other. Maybe teaching or something...?

@Lemniscate_Mike that log doesnt have any errors related to caravan, however there are some errors from i think conflict between VE starjack and death rattle although those dont seems to be breaking much from what i can tell

I'm getting a bunch of errors when a caravan is on the map. I'm not 100% sure if this is the cause, but didn't notice it happening before installing this.

@juniper That can be fixed with the game's file verifier. Go to options and run the option in the gear. Go to the properties of RimWorld in the installed files option. There you will see the option to verify the integrity of the files, and it will do its magic by itself.

@girk It is mainly for modders to use for their mods, its very useful for performance mods specifically. Also allows you to change mod load order before game load, though using Rimsort is preferable.

how can i get mods that are dependent on the original prepatcher and on original prepatcher only to work with this version? because even when i have this version enabled the mods still want the original and dont work.

its almost always needed to even begin to id oddities in mods
the hugs log
carries a modlist
patch data
system specs at times
and errors along with other info
Very valuable to see if its errors or what causing peoples issues

Issue is
With even 400 mods logically made to load right
Many of us still have under 3 minute load times
So more than "it doubles my load time" is needed
Zetrith couldn't do anything with those reports in 1.4 and I doubt jik can ether

Sorry but if you have a mod list thats over like 100 mods you deserve a long load time, i cant imagine having more than 150 at once
