okay i fucked around with it and i think it was the ACE 3 Extension mod for some reason cause I took it off and its worked every time since

Hi, I don't know what mods would conflict but I am assuming it is an issue with mod(s). Try running the scenario without mods and see if the problem persists. The error logs can be located in AppData\Local\Arma 3

its on Altis. i do have mods(some ai mods on which may be the issue but i haven't checked) i didn't see any error logs. whats happening is just when its loading the map like normal it just never loads in like 85% of the time. are there any known mod conflicts?

Vanilla NATO and CSAT does not have "Air" groups defined, you could use ALiVE Orbatron to define them if you want. https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=620260972

Yes aviation does appear but only for factions which have air type groups configured. For example CUP factions have "Air" groups defined. https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_2:_Operation_Arrowhead:_CfgGroups
Artillery takes part in battles, again for factions which have it configured.

easily one of the most fun missions ive done in awhile, my only question though is it compatible with lambs since i figure the ai could use the extra help in the actual gunfights. I doubt it would work with something say like Vcom but im hoping lambs atleast

@jp9999 - MY GUESS is that this 'config' is INCOMPLETE/INVALID.

There are a few mods that EXPECT certain configs to be present, if not, they will 'puke' on you somehow.

Even the dev said as much RIGHT BEFORE YOUR OWN POST! ;)

I am pretty sure improper configs IS the problem.

is anybody else unable to use the RHS spetsnaz? if I try to play as the spetsnaz the game never actually starts after the loading screen passes, it just says "timeout in X minutes" and stays there freezed
I can play as the other RHS russian factions subgrups just fine

@VULPINE キツネ - I understand about all the testing. You COULD do what I have done for my mod.

I wrote it to work with DEFAULT ARMA. If you use OTHER mods and it fails - THAT IS UPON THE USER.

YOU can NOT be expected to write a mod that 'works with everything'.

Even though in some parts of my mod, is a SINGLE ARMA COMMAND, and on SOME missions/mods, it will 'fail'.

This is NOT my concern. Nor should it be yours either.

Write it for default ARMA and just make that work.

Forget everything else.

Either it will work or it will not. This is NOT YOUR CONCERN!

It's a little janky... I get into an ai controlled vehicle and he runs into 10 friendly soldiers until he randomly tells me to disembark. He then tells me to get back into the vehicle, but before I can, he reverses into me and I die.

I'm starting to become a bit reluctant towards adding more customization in a mission. Testing with every single different setting and their combinations is an enormous task, and every single new option just potentiates the amount of tests/fixes/adjustments that have to be done. To add to that, having random elements while bringing very interesting variations in battles and enhances replayability always leads to select few having a terrible first experience.

So I ask please, do not give feedback in the form of "add x", but instead tell a story. Tell a story of what you saw, what you did and how it felt. Thanks to everyone who has played and happy holidays.

As for the timeout, it is a bit tricky topic that has to do with balance and overall pace of the scenario. If the timeout is too short it's going to lead to stalemates or situation where players gets to see no action. On other hand if it's too long player will be there wandering empty battlefields for really long times. And if one had all the time in world, they could just single-handedly destroy the entire enemy side if manual saving is enabled. So it adds interesting challenge to the situations while keeping it from becoming patrol simulator.

Possible add an ability to extend a battle? - Seems a few of the 45 min/60 min battles take a little long to start. Awesome work on this though!

@MichaelBruce83 - Here is what I suggest you do:

Take those configs and use them with mods/mission such as MCC4 or HETMAN.

HETMAN especially as (not to be rude to the dev) is a 'clone' (to a degree) of HETMAN.


If it works in MCC4/HETMAN:

MOST LIKELY, this would be an issue with HIVE.


Not working:

This would indicate an issue with your config for the units.



Trying the above will help VERIFY you troop configs.


Another thing that I am NOT aware if HIVE 'suffers' the same:

If you place NEAR water, HETMAN CAN FAIL. Move mission, SAME UNITS, works perfectly! Same with HIVE? I do not know...
