10/10 mod. the only thing I could think of changing is having an option somewhere (idk where exactly tho) to set it without having to open some other editor mod. i get that might be harder to code tho lol

for a mafioso roleplay or for bigger families colony would be cool to have a Godfather/Godmother, so a character that is a close friend with a second character can set his best pal as the grandfather of his son/dauther

@SingularKat

Happy to hear those wholesome stories! :-) Thank you for adopting the orphans!
lydocia  [author] Oct 7 @ 12:57am
@maladicta

Yes, actually! That would be a great addition!
maladicta Oct 6 @ 1:04pm
Would you possibly consider having adopted aunt/uncle and niece/nephew?
SingularKat Sep 30 @ 8:13pm
Thank you for making this mod! Now the 8 year old girl the two parents in my colony unofficially adopted can be officially adopted- when they're all ready, of course.

Sought out this mod while watching the husband and new father of a newborn teaching the new girl at the very desk he built to use with his birth daughter one day. Was too sweet, wanted to officialise it.

@sheeps

Since I'm only adding relationships, that's something you should bring up with the Family Tree devs.
sheeps Sep 19 @ 1:50pm
found an incompatibility with the family tree mod - adding an adoptive relationship will cause the tab to break and become unopenable

@slurpme

Yep, I had the same experience!

Sadly, it's not something I can fix. My mod is set up to be platonic, it's their mod that has a thing that overrides platonic relationships. Nothing I can do but advise to either not use that mod, or check their settings to see if they have a toggle.
lydocia  [author] Sep 9 @ 5:46am
@Hush

That question has been answered in the description.
slurpme Sep 8 @ 12:23pm
got scarred because this mod doesn't have a patch with the intimacy mod
lydocia  [author] Aug 25 @ 8:24am
@Risa

Happy to hear it works after all. :-) Enjoy!
Risa Aug 25 @ 3:39am
Thank you for the clarification. I see the button you are talking about i will say that button isn't very clear that is a button at first glance. still i expect to get a lot of use out of you mod ^.^
lydocia  [author] Aug 25 @ 3:16am
@Risa

If anything, that'd be an issue with your Character Editor / Prepare Carefully / whatever you are using, not with my mod.

Assuming you're using Character Editor, you likely have selected the male option for relationships to be added, so it only shows male options. Change it to female, and you'll only see female options.
Risa Aug 25 @ 1:36am
So i have run into an issue of only Adoptive Male options showing up and unable to add an Adoptive Mother. If you need it i can give you a list of my mods but i am not seeing any Red text on this issue for now

@zachajewia99

Happy to help!
zachajewia99 Aug 7 @ 11:28pm
Yo this mod allows me to fulfill a themed run ive been wanting to make perfect so thank you
lydocia  [author] Aug 7 @ 12:57am
@Dad (that felt weird omfg)

Abusive Relationships sounds funny but it's actually something I've been thinking about. A mod with negative relationships, that I didn't have a name for yet. Abusive Relationships might actually work, thanks for that hought bubble!
lydocia  [author] Aug 7 @ 12:56am
@JACK

No, nothing is "automatic" in this mod, you have to add relationships in every direction manually.
Dad Aug 6 @ 3:41pm
I thought it said Abusive Relationships and I thought "Jesus christ what the ♥♥♥♥"
Subbed, love the idea.
JACK Aug 4 @ 12:56pm
if, for instance, a pawn already has a child and adopts another child, will the two children automatically be adopted siblings or do ALL the relationships need manually added?
lydocia  [author] Jul 23 @ 10:59am
@Pingy junk

It will not unless you remove those manually yourself!
Pingy junk Jul 22 @ 7:05pm
Will this mod overwrite preexisting bio relationships? My pawn saved their nephew and he joined the colony. id lovee to make them adoptive parent and son but I dont want to overwrite them being bio uncle n nephew.
lydocia  [author] Jul 22 @ 7:47am
@L. Velociraptor

Platonic Relationships has been updated. :-)
L. Velociraptor Jul 22 @ 2:36am
@lydocia - Thank you!!! I appreciate it a ton!
lydocia  [author] Jul 22 @ 1:37am
@DuckGoosebear PrairieDogLover

and I love you for loving them! :D
lydocia  [author] Jul 22 @ 1:37am
@Miss Bonafide

Seems like that mod might override the default settings. That's on their end, not something I can account for.
lydocia  [author] Jul 22 @ 1:36am
@L. Velociraptor

Ooh, that is actually very cute! It would work better within Platonic Relationships, I think, but consider it added the next time I push an update!
L. Velociraptor Jul 21 @ 6:26pm
I love both of your relationship mods, thank you for making them!

If you don't mind the suggestion; What would you think about a kinda generic "adopted family" or "chosen family" with no boost or a boost similar to cousin or something small like that? I know you have the platonic relationships so maybe it'd work better there, just a small thing I though I'd suggest for different family styles.
Miss Bonafide Jul 21 @ 4:24pm
I think there's a soft incompatibility with turkler's "intimacy" mod. One of my pawns was boinking her adoptive son :(
I love your mods so thanks so much
lydocia  [author] Jul 12 @ 5:08pm
@wydscum

I would like to, but I'm having trouble uploading mods to the Steam Workshop right now.
I will look into updating and fixing the error tomorrow!
wydscum Jul 12 @ 4:59pm
since you removed the 1.5 tag it doesn't work for that version :( I gotta play 1.5 until my mods update, could you add it back please :D
lydocia  [author] Jun 25 @ 11:19pm
@Zergologist

I don't have 1.6 myself yet, so I can't test it myself - but as far as I know, this should not conflict with anything and should just work in 1.6.
Zergologist Jun 25 @ 2:52pm
could this be updated for 1.6?
lydocia  [author] May 31 @ 12:26pm
@Skullito

Happy to see you've found it, but for others with the same question: you have to change the gender icon on top, of the window.
Skullito May 31 @ 11:27am
Nevermind I found it sorry. >.>
Skullito May 31 @ 11:24am
It's me or we cannot add a adoptive mother? I have the option for all dad or oncle but not aunt, grandma or mother or even sister
lydocia  [author] May 11 @ 5:18am
@Deankiller Turnupseed

For this kind of mod, no.
Deankiller Turnupseed May 11 @ 4:44am
@lydocia fair. how do you edit rimworlds xmls? are modding tools needed?
lydocia  [author] May 11 @ 1:36am
@Deankiller Turnupseed

Not at this time, that's more programming than I'm willing to invest.
Deankiller Turnupseed May 10 @ 6:27pm
is there a version where it can happen naturally?
lydocia  [author] Apr 22 @ 4:23am
@Gaazhagens

Enjoy, thanks for adopting the orphans!
Gaazhagens Apr 22 @ 4:02am
That sounds perfect! Thank you! :)
lydocia  [author] Apr 22 @ 12:39am
@Gaazhagens

You can have as many adoptive relationships as you want, there are no limits in place!

And yes, there is a relationship boost based on the relationship so in that regard there are "gameplay effects", but nothing more complicated than that.
Gaazhagens Apr 21 @ 2:52pm
This is something I have been hoping for with same gender couples. Would it still work for two fathers or two mothers to be the "adoptive father/mother," or will it cause an error if more than one pawn is designated the same relation title?

Also, I was curious: you say it is just a cosmetic mod, and I understand there are no gameplay differences like inheritances. But the relation causes increased platonic affection between the pawns, correct? That is all I am hoping for, just a "you're my special little found family on the Rim" type of adoptive family feeling. Thank you so much for this mod!
lydocia  [author] Apr 16 @ 12:17am
@DispenserDev

At this point in time, it's not implemented. It's just a visual roleplaying mod.
I haven't done any coding on this mod, but I'll keep this in mind for when I do.
DispenserDev Apr 15 @ 11:17pm
I have a Female pawn and her daughter sleep in the same room, but I made another pawn who's a kid the Mother's adoptive son, and the daughter's relationship with him as adoptive brother, and I made him sleep in the same room too, and it became a barracks so they all get a mood debuff. I was wondering if I did something wrong or if this was even implemented? Because if not I was hoping it could be.
lydocia  [author] Apr 13 @ 10:43pm
@GabyGaby
That's okay, I should probably include some sort of tutorial on how to use Character Editor (but then again, that might be the CE devs' responsibility instead of mine).
GabyGaby Apr 13 @ 2:01pm
Oh, I feel silly. It is not the pov problem, I just didn't notice the gender switch in the character editor. Then you can choose an adoptive daughter.

My fault. Great mod, thanks
