Also, regarding the being the last Spartan, I do think it kinda already got ruined by that easter egg in CE with Lindo-058, but maybe that's just me, also I'd think Jun would only be on one or two mission as a small easter egg, so as to not ruin feeling like the last Spartan, besides, people might miss or forget about him, that's just my personal opinion though, and I am very excited for your mod still.

I also don't really want to put any other Spartans in. I know it's not actually true, but the "vibe" of being the last Spartan I think adds a good bit to the original trilogy.

I've been incredibly tempted to bring Infinite weapons over - especially given how fun the "Halo 3 Infinite" mod is. Ultimately, it's just a step too far for what I'm trying to do here, which is mostly to update Halo 3 while keeping the majority of its core intact. Giving the Brutes Brute Plasma Rifles like they have in H2 and H3ODST is something I had to spend months considering, and I still question it. I do think there's always a chance of there being a "sequel" to this mod that drops any pretense of maintaining the core and just does things for the sake of it someday. Just not sure when that would be, because I can really still only bring myself to work on this in short bursts. Had things gone differently, I'd probably have this full mod and the ODST version already out, but alas...

The ODSTs are going to stay the way they are for a little bit. Honestly, that's mostly because I was an idiot with the way I handled porting the kitbash I used, and so changing anything about them would be a huge pain. Once I finish this one up and move to ODST I may retroactively introduce more variation.

Yo this mod is AWESOME! I was wondering though if some ODST's could have their H3 ODST armor and if some Halo Infinite weapons could be ported over, I also was wondering if you could put in Jun and Omega Team on some levels since it'd be a cool easter egg and we don't know where they were during H3 anyways

I've finally gotten back to the mod, and am having fun with a new PBR shader Oli released, so that's helping motivate. Definitely will keep pumping updates out - and hopefull a full release soon. ODST should follow shortly after, then I'll have to figure out my ideas for the other games!

Also, I hope I read that right earlier that you were not only planning to get the second release out soon, but also one for ODST as well. If that's the case, I'd so be down for that.

Tayran076 - Yeah Chief has been constantly changing. I want to stick with this model because it actually fits H3 Chief, and thus doesn't get funky in cutscenes, but it could certainly use a re-texture.

I think the only thing I don't like is Master Chief's armor. In the gameplay, it looks terrible—it's too dark and you can barely see its green color. You could try giving it a recolor to make it look better in the gameplay, or use a different armor model. But to be honest, it doesn't really fit with the other characters; most of the time it looks way too dark.

Tayran076 - The Brutes actually are the H2A Brutes, largely with Infinite (and some Reach) armor pieces. The Flood are also a kitbash of H2A and 3.

I really enjoyed the mod! I tried out the co-op mode and loved that the Elites had their remastered Halo 2 skins. If you could replace the Brutes with the ones from Halo 2 Anniversary, that would be awesome. As for the Flood, I’m not sure if it’s even possible to bring the Anniversary models into Halo 3

Tayran076 - Because I haven't released the full campaign yet. It's a demo, meant to get feedback before I start rolling out full releases. Just been slow the last few months, given my mom passed away on Christmas Eve. Once I start working on it more consistently, it shouldn't be long before full releases start coming out.

Drixid - Awesome! The AR is probably the weapon I've done the best job with; I feel it really slots into the "easy to use, functional and effective, but not the best option for any given scenario" pretty well which I like.

Well done! Really enjoyed the tweaked assault rifle and actually found myself using it a lot more than in vanilla as a well-rounded mid range weapon. Excited to see where the rest of this mod goes.

Fesiug - Glad you enjoy! Still tweaking the Magnum a bit, but overall I do want to aim for it to be a more mid-range weapon to incentive exploring other weapon options for longer ranges.

Tyler811 - Just wanted to update: I really want to end up with a mod that people can tweak how they like, but - I've done some digging into what it would take to make the sounds work as their own mod (which would allow for playing this mod ALSO with vanilla sounds or others' sound mods, if so desired) and it would be a great deal of work with tools that seem to be very outdated. It's a goal, for sure, but as just one guy this is all a lot of work. I'll just have to figure out if it's worth the effort or not.

@Atlas Guitar. just got through Tsavo highway and loved the experience. Unfortunately, I do have a bug to report. I was getting the high-pitched static-y sound again. I did not get it on Sierra 117 or Crow's Nest, but I did get it consistently in Tsavo Highway. It started at the part where you meet the first shade turrets right before the "my convoy's been hit" radio call. I also noticed it started after I flipped the troop hog and happened after the majority of the times I used the e-brake on that hog. my guess is it's an imported sound causing issues, and from what I can tell the troop hog looked import from Reach? I will say I didn't get the noise often on Tsavo Highway in v1, but did in Crow's Nest, so I'd say something you changed made a difference for the better on CN.

V2 is a definite improvement over v1! well balanced, at least on Heroic, and very fun to play.

Just got through playing Sierra 117 on v2 and am loving what I'm seeing so far. the re-tuned sandbox was fun to play with being more lethal but also fair, and the updated models look nice in H3's engine (even if Arby's eyes are terrifying since Bungie never animated them on the model XD)

Only criticism I have so far is the movement speed debuff when picking up a turret. It felt like the vanilla -40%, and that made it practically a deathtrap due to the increased lethality of the weapons wielded by your enemies (I was playing on Heroic). I think the debuff should still be present, just lessened some. Maybe -20-30% instead to allow the player more freedom to strafe and play aggressively on higher difficulties. Still punishing if you mess up while also remaining fair with the increased firepower you're carrying.

Thanks again for the update! Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the full release!

1. Still not 100% sure how I'm gonna go about it. I'm thinking I'll have to commission some models, but I've not quite delved into it yet.
2. I actually did Kitbash a H2A Truth, but the facial structure is so different that the animations just don't transfer well. It was bad like, eyeballs floating around outside his head bad. So, probably have to commission that as well...

Yap yap - I don't know when a full version will release, but I'm putting together everything for a second release at this very moment! The most I can really say, is that it'll be done when it's done. I'm reaching a point where I'm kind of shocked - and almost sad - about how close to done everything is, actually.

I really have to get Miranda Keyes and Lord Hood figured out soon, though.......

And yes, there will 100% be an ODST version. I ported everything I've done thus far to ODST in the last couple days, and to be completely honest it's the most fun I've personally ever had with ODST.

I actually have plans for every single game in the MCC, though of course that's going to take a loooonnggg time to complete.

Catsnake - yeah, honestly the facial animations in 3 aren't great to start with and when you introduce new models those problems become a lot more obvious.

And Johnson's cigar has confused me for months. Like in the opening cutscene, where Johnson puts it in his mouth but his lip doesn't go down to accommodate it until his hand wipes across the screen.

So I'm not sure what I can realistically do to alleviate these issues, and I think the tradeoff is worth it not to have to look at the abominations of H3's faces.

after playing 2 missions in the only problems i'm having are that the facial animations are pretty bad across the board and for some characters it's really bad. some of the marines look fucking hilarious and Johnson's cigar doesn't line up

And yeah lmao, the audio problems are incredibly annoying. As much as I want to release a V2 soon, the damn sound bug is nagging at me and I can't figure it out.

Really appreciate the changes to the AR, makes it feel like an actual rifle. Not a fan of whatever schizo noises audio bug is going on. I got to the first encounter on Crow's Nest and had my ears blasted by what sounded like a tractor trailer backing up, nearly shit myself.

Onyx2589 - Thanks for the feedback! The sounds are 100% a bug, and one I sadly can't replicate. It seems most common on Crow's Nest and some people experience it on Tsavo Highway, but it's not universal and it doesn't seem to happen on Sierra 117. Very odd, and I still don't know how to begin to tackle that issue.

One thought I have, however, is that I'm only certain of it occurring with this Workshop upload. I'd be curious if a manual install from the Nexus page has any impact or not.

A second release is probably not too far away, so I hope you get to check that out soon too :)
