I also don't really want to put any other Spartans in. I know it's not actually true, but the "vibe" of being the last Spartan I think adds a good bit to the original trilogy.

I've been incredibly tempted to bring Infinite weapons over - especially given how fun the "Halo 3 Infinite" mod is. Ultimately, it's just a step too far for what I'm trying to do here, which is mostly to update Halo 3 while keeping the majority of its core intact. Giving the Brutes Brute Plasma Rifles like they have in H2 and H3ODST is something I had to spend months considering, and I still question it. I do think there's always a chance of there being a "sequel" to this mod that drops any pretense of maintaining the core and just does things for the sake of it someday. Just not sure when that would be, because I can really still only bring myself to work on this in short bursts. Had things gone differently, I'd probably have this full mod and the ODST version already out, but alas...

The ODSTs are going to stay the way they are for a little bit. Honestly, that's mostly because I was an idiot with the way I handled porting the kitbash I used, and so changing anything about them would be a huge pain. Once I finish this one up and move to ODST I may retroactively introduce more variation.
I've finally gotten back to the mod, and am having fun with a new PBR shader Oli released, so that's helping motivate. Definitely will keep pumping updates out - and hopefull a full release soon. ODST should follow shortly after, then I'll have to figure out my ideas for the other games!
My condolences on your mom's passing. I realize it's long past but I wanted to offer my wishes nonetheless.
Also, I hope I read that right earlier that you were not only planning to get the second release out soon, but also one for ODST as well. If that's the case, I'd so be down for that.

V2 is a definite improvement over v1! well balanced, at least on Heroic, and very fun to play.

Only criticism I have so far is the movement speed debuff when picking up a turret. It felt like the vanilla -40%, and that made it practically a deathtrap due to the increased lethality of the weapons wielded by your enemies (I was playing on Heroic). I think the debuff should still be present, just lessened some. Maybe -20-30% instead to allow the player more freedom to strafe and play aggressively on higher difficulties. Still punishing if you mess up while also remaining fair with the increased firepower you're carrying.

1. Still not 100% sure how I'm gonna go about it. I'm thinking I'll have to commission some models, but I've not quite delved into it yet.
2. I actually did Kitbash a H2A Truth, but the facial structure is so different that the animations just don't transfer well. It was bad like, eyeballs floating around outside his head bad. So, probably have to commission that as well...
I really have to get Miranda Keyes and Lord Hood figured out soon, though.......
And yes, there will 100% be an ODST version. I ported everything I've done thus far to ODST in the last couple days, and to be completely honest it's the most fun I've personally ever had with ODST.
I actually have plans for every single game in the MCC, though of course that's going to take a loooonnggg time to complete.
And Johnson's cigar has confused me for months. Like in the opening cutscene, where Johnson puts it in his mouth but his lip doesn't go down to accommodate it until his hand wipes across the screen.
So I'm not sure what I can realistically do to alleviate these issues, and I think the tradeoff is worth it not to have to look at the abominations of H3's faces.
And yeah lmao, the audio problems are incredibly annoying. As much as I want to release a V2 soon, the damn sound bug is nagging at me and I can't figure it out.
One thought I have, however, is that I'm only certain of it occurring with this Workshop upload. I'd be curious if a manual install from the Nexus page has any impact or not.
A second release is probably not too far away, so I hope you get to check that out soon too :)
