I've updated & reposted these cartography map mods, both for New Civilisations & New Horizons; there were a couple issues from the major updates and with compatability into New Horizons, but nothing unfixable.

All code is easily available for all the mods in a Repo I've made - in case the original creator wants to take the mods back over with updates or anyone else wants to create something this for themselves.

As of writing this comment the mod still works:

Does this mod still work with the current version?
Rabid Oct 28, 2024 @ 8:12am
Ok, thank you. It's a pretty sweet overlay! It'll work. :)

@Råb!d Unfortunately not. It is not a political or diplomatic layer mode that you can turn on and off. It is a custom galaxy background.
Rabid Oct 28, 2024 @ 6:04am
Is there a button to turn it off and on?

Sorry it took so long to fix the annoying graphics bug. I just had a Stellaris burnout; now updating the rest of the overlay mods.

hi any fix in place yet for the coloring within the empire borders not showing?
TommenTyrell Jun 18, 2024 @ 2:50pm
Please Updateeee!!! I NEED ITTT :((
Cormigon May 23, 2024 @ 6:43am
It appears to be possible to use this together with the newer "Lighter Borders + Swapped Colors" to fix the issue with the current version.
FWehning May 15, 2024 @ 10:08pm
The coloring problem of borders and regions seems to be only near the alpha, beta, gamma and delta symbols in my ccase
KayinDreemurr May 15, 2024 @ 4:27pm
yeah I'd noticed that had become a problem

Hey any fix in place yet for the coloring within the empire borders not showing?

can confirm the national borders disappearing with the new update. made me sad, i think i love these mods. lol. great work and hope you find the issues!
Sneaky Markus Kruber  [author] May 8, 2024 @ 7:27am
@Cormigon Hey, thanks for the kind words. I will investigate it; hope I will find the problem(s). XD
Cormigon May 8, 2024 @ 7:21am
This is amazing work that is great for increasing immersion when playing the federation. Thank you for your time and dedication in creating this.

With the new version of Stellaris (3.12), unfortunately this appears to be disabling the coloring within the empire borders as well as the actual borders. I tried this version and the two quadrant version and with both I cannot see my own or other empires any more.

@Aprosule/Overlord Malarkey: You mean a more vanilla looking grid version for Stellaris Vanilla? Unfortunately I won't be doing that: my goal at the moment is to offer it for both major Star Trek total conversion mods; then special layouts for some major factions such as Klingons/Dominion. Who knows what the future will bring...

Otherwise: Yes, you can simply start the mod with Stellaris Vanilla, there won't be any problems!
Sneaky Markus Kruber  [author] Mar 25, 2024 @ 1:24am
@ KayinDreemurr: Yes, it works!
KayinDreemurr Mar 25, 2024 @ 12:01am
does this mod work with base vanilla?
Malarkey Mar 24, 2024 @ 9:29pm
I would love to see a standalone version of this for vanilla Stellaris at some point
Aprosule Mar 24, 2024 @ 9:02am
Yeah a vanilla-friendly version would be the top mod.
[DFS]SciMan3010 Mar 21, 2024 @ 2:06pm
This mod is absolutely excellent. The idea is strong enough to make me wish that someone in the future can make a slightly more 'generic' holomap looking thing for use in Vanilla Stellaris.
JunoMe Mar 21, 2024 @ 1:33pm
this would be pretty cool for vanilla too tbh
Sneaky Markus Kruber  [author] Mar 21, 2024 @ 11:51am
@Drengr: As far as I know, you can have both mods activated at the same time and the game will run normally. BUT: The mod order is important because both files edit the same files. But as I already wrote in the description text, my mod is based on a modified version of "Real Galaxy" by Annatar.
Drengr Mar 21, 2024 @ 11:34am
Im running "Real Galaxy" by Annatar. Can i also run this or will they clash?
Sneaky Markus Kruber  [author] Mar 21, 2024 @ 9:17am
@@Locomotor79 Both Star Trek total conversion mods already do this. Both have randomly generated and scenario maps (e.g. Alpha and Beta Quadrant, or the entire Star Trek Galaxy with the correct starting positions).
Locomotor79 Mar 21, 2024 @ 8:33am
also small tip becausse this is the true ST galaxy overlay
maybe make the mod that you need whit this so that depending the ether off that specific race choses that you whould be place in that zone they originate from as its supposed to be
Locomotor79 Mar 21, 2024 @ 8:31am
whell there are map mods like setons Clutch from Supreme Commander series however never getting them to work there are so many off those full galaxy changes mods but of those work
Sneaky Markus Kruber  [author] Mar 21, 2024 @ 6:01am
@Locomotor79 This mod only changes the visual appearance of the galaxy map; so it should work without any problems. For "real" Star Trek scenario maps you should play "Star Trek: New Horizon" or "Star Trek: New Civilizations".
Locomotor79 Mar 21, 2024 @ 5:49am
whell i have tryd to add maps through steam workshops but they never worked
and i am a huge ST fan yet i doubt this whill work
Sneaky Markus Kruber  [author] Mar 21, 2024 @ 4:19am
@자유의 전사 You can use this mod for Stellaris Vanilla, too! The only problem can be if you use other mods at the same time that change the appearance/textures of the galaxy map.
kidtedsa Mar 21, 2024 @ 1:39am
standalone mod please
Centurian128 Mar 19, 2024 @ 7:59am
Oh yes please! I did not know how much I needed this until I saw it just now!
Scrambles Mar 19, 2024 @ 5:03am
Wow, what an excellent idea - well done!
