All code is easily available for all the mods in a Repo I've made - in case the original creator wants to take the mods back over with updates or anyone else wants to create something this for themselves.

With the new version of Stellaris (3.12), unfortunately this appears to be disabling the coloring within the empire borders as well as the actual borders. I tried this version and the two quadrant version and with both I cannot see my own or other empires any more.
Otherwise: Yes, you can simply start the mod with Stellaris Vanilla, there won't be any problems!
maybe make the mod that you need whit this so that depending the ether off that specific race choses that you whould be place in that zone they originate from as its supposed to be
and i am a huge ST fan yet i doubt this whill work
