@Charleco Hello. Do you have the previous sprite? I'm considering making a new subtype based off of my idea of making a new subtype with an intelligent researcher background and the current stats and sprite be more of a native/fighter type. I'll give you credit if I ever make it.

@Syfferyn i could def just merge your sprite into the mod and give you credit, since it fits so well with qud's lineup. Im no artist lmao. Just lmk :)

@Syfferyn Remember you start with a fungal infection. This means you lose a slot somewhere on your body. The +3 strength and +1 toughness doesn't make up for it fully, but it definitely is a form of compensation for that. If anything, this build is underpowered due to the fungal infection, but it is definitely an interesting way to start by having one already.

I also uploaded a mod that resprites the subtype to better match Caves of Qud's artstyle. Don't get me wrong, the current sprite does the job, though I do think it can be improved.

I like this concept, but I do think having it start with +3 strength and +1 toughness seems a bit much, considering Greybeard is the only calling that starts with a +3 (albeit to a single stat)

I recommend sticking with 1 stat (strength or toughness) and increasing it by just +2, like the rest of the callings; have it start with either +2 strength or +2 toughness

if the strength is absolutely necessary, +1 strength and +1 toughness

Wakko's art seems like it would really fit for having a second Mycologist subtype where the one currently added by the mod is a strong character and another one's intelligent (the intelligent one seems like a better option to be called "The Mycologist."
As far as the infection, the mod makes it seem like you start with a random one. Really, I'd like it so be an option akin to cybernetics or mutations where you get a menu to choose what infection you pick and on what body part. Body parts added by mutations could be an option, but you would have to pick mutations first, and changes to mutations that remove a body part would make you have to choose an infection again.

Having both get fungal infections as their main benefit and something that makes them unique to other callings makes sense.

Shouldn't there be two Subtypes for fungi-mutants? One for the strong character like here that is native to fungal lands and one that's an intelligent character that's a full-on mycologist?
