Check out the experimental version of the game, where I believe the devs have added this as a choice when you start a new game.

@EntropicFrost The "beta" branch of the early access just made the big rocks infinite while allowing you to clear the normal pieces (took them like 3 updates since the one where they announced infinity).
I prefer this option too.

is it possible to do a version where the large chunks are the only one that is infinite? Ie normal size ores would still be consumable but the chunks would be infinite.

Did you exit out of the game completely? I'm not sure what the rules are for the game reloading mod updates. You could also try unsubscribing and subscribing again (with the game closed, preferably). I tested subscribing at the current version and it worked. If you start a new game and the resources show infinity the mod hasn't updated.

If you're having this issue, restarting the game should cause the mod to update and new nodes to work again. Nodes created with the bad version will still have this issue, so you might need to load an older version of your save. It was a good lesson for me in being more careful about updates, apologies!

Also to note: A future version of the game will include this natively (infinite rich nodes) as a resource richness option.

Apologies, should be fixed now. I had to revert to non-truly infinite nodes. I think you might have to reload your save from before it updated.

If it's a big issue I can try to fix the entities later.

Same problem here. It was working in the previous version, even thought it was not really infinite.
Now yes they show infinite but the bots mine 1 and they stop.
