Boss, can we get a 1.6?
Stony Rock  [author] Oct 29, 2024 @ 1:18pm
@fallenscion I believe it works with 1.5 without issues. It's just a XML mod, no C# code or anything sophisticated. It just fiddles a bit with basic metal defs, that's all.

Fingers crossed for 1.5 maybe someday

Does it work with Expanded Materials - Metals? That mod changes Steel "ore" into Iron ore, adds processing similar to Simple Chains: Steel. Also I wanna use mods that remove mineable plasteel and components in order to make progress more more realistic, will that clash with this mod?

This made is really good. I am constantly going "There is NO way that this made is compatible with this!" BUT IT IS! No issues whatsoever!

Thanks for the mod! You have to "refine" steel to make it useful for production, yet you use uranium ore as just pure uranium even if you are a neolithic tribe with zero techs researched. Don't you find it weird?

This mod is awesome. Thanks. I'd personally really appreciate compatibility with Early Metalworking, which changes mineable steel into mineable iron ore, which is then yields iron, which can be smelted into raw steel.

What about the other metals in the game? Like gold and silver? Shouldn't they be able to processed into construction components as well?

Would it be possible to patch this for vanilla outposts expanded? When this is enabled it prevents steel/plasteel from being produced at a mining outpost.

I've always been a fan of mods that add more processing to the game. I'll be adding this to my next playthrough here very shortly.

For all users who tried this mod please don't hesitate to give feedback. I've only tested it so far, but i might have missed some stuff.
Stony Rock  [author] Apr 9, 2023 @ 9:50am
@Sussus Amogus, sure I can do that. Never did patching before, but that shouldn't be that hard...
JamesBulkInTheFryWhoGrubbedMe Apr 9, 2023 @ 4:55am
Any chance we could get a compatibility patch for Simple Chains: Steel? Purely because the mod adds Iron that can turn into Steel, and even though this mod makes it so that building with Steel requires construction components, I can still stack iron walls out of raw iron ore.

@titanatora Fair enough in a sense that Microelectronic might be too specific. But i think renaming them to "Electronic components" would be more general and more fitting overall. How does that sound? Gears capacitor and etc should fall into this category, basic ones too.
titanatora Apr 8, 2023 @ 9:05pm
This is *absolutely* a small complaint, and not even a complaint at all, but I think that you should change the renamed "micro-electronic components" to something like "analog" components. Micro-electronic makes me think advanced components, not gears and such that the basic ones are.

@imagine12 that's right, this will apply to craftable items like guns and armor too. Beds and plate armor too require these components. The way i made all that work is by changing name, description and texture of vanilla steel and plasteel, so technically speaking all items, recipes and buildings that used steel and plasteel before still use it, it's just that they look different and have new name (Construction component). What really is different is that sources of steel and plasteel (mountains and deep drilling) now drop new item that looks like old steel/plasteel, which is unuseable for anything on it's own and must be processed to be useable.
Imagine12 Apr 6, 2023 @ 11:01pm
So when using this mod, everything that ordinarily requires steel or plasteel will now be changed to construction components if I'm understanding this correctly. Does that include items crafted (like guns, armor, and stuffables) and sculptures? Actually how will this treat stuffables like plate armor and beds?
