I don't know why but its seems the legendary prefix on a battlerod breakes the save. I have to put the rod in a chest before i save otherwise i won't be able to load the character.

i am having some problems, when i dedicate a run using the fishing rods only my character gets bugged out and will delete it, it isn't a problem on my end because i just made a new character and it hasn't been deleted. i don't know if anyone else has this problem, if it is a problem for just me then i do apologize if this sounded rude. The character gets deleted after i craft another battle rod besides the one i spawn with

I might be stupid but, none of my rods can fish, I dont have any accessories on either, and I have mutiple bait, but the bobbers keep sinking into the waters. I tried with both a wooden and lead battlerod but neither of em were working? Is there a toggle or something im missing?

I love this mod very very much BUT, it has given me some problems. Specifically with the fishing knife accessory. For the longest time I was trying to figure out why the heck the mobs seemed to be glitching out when I would touch them. I'm talking like... the destroyer when touching him with my character would literally cut off like half of his body. And it would break the boss fight. As well as when my character would come in contact with other mobs. They would spontaneously combust as if they had just died. But in reality they weren't dead and then would pop back into existence a moment later. I think it is because of this fishing knife accessory. Please fix it I really like this mod but it really sucks because it breaks a lot of fights :(.

eh, that's really bad that molvine said what mod he used for one of his playthroughs, since his subcribers, overwhelming majority of them are just dumb, uneducated kids that have no idea about what "manners" are. the typical russian community of terraria...

For some reason, if a Battlerod has a prefix(like Legendary) and the Battlerod is in my inventory when i close the game the save file is corrupted.
I guess the world gets saved in a different way(or its magic storage mod) so as long as i leave the rod in a chest i can load the save. The arror is gone once i deactivate Fargos Souls mod.

The Omnilure accessory is broken, it says you can equip it but doesn't let you. Also the Buddylure that you get from 100 fish steaks from the fishing lady. For some reason despawns for me when I go near my house in the center of the world not sure if this is intended. great mod i love it.

This mod has some really bad balancing issues so far in the early game. (Played on a 6 server multiplayer on expert). Where doing a lot quests result in a ton of bobbers, all of which do the same damage alongside fishing rod upgrades, on top of the insane defense you get from the armor sets before beating a single boss. Shredding basically most of pre-hard mode. I was told off from using it so that my friends could actually play the game. But I'm guessing it might shred hardmode as well.

Could use for a rebalancing or maybe its just an issue on my part. Still a fun and creative mod on its own though.

Update: Figured out how it works, have to wear the Fishermans Kit (Bank) and have to have the items in the bank. but still why would you craft it into something just have to craft the previous items again to use them? kind of annoying.

Wish there was a Wiki but how does the Fishermans Kit (Bank) and such work? I feel like i wasted my items to create something that doesnt even help me. it doesnt give me any of the buffs anymore and nothing i put in my bank is usable like it says either so what gives???:steamsad:

so, Ive been holding onto this mod even though i generally have issue with the general playstyle (primarily the lack of multi-target it deals out)... but somehow i ever happened upon the NPC that trades in fish steaks.

I found the Buddy lure and the discardable explosive bobbers. I want more variants of this flying fish sort of summon. oh if it worked with minion expansions i would have lost it in glee.

There's some pretty major balance issues with this mod. The earliest rods are almost worthless, to the point that the copper shortsword is better, but then as soon as you get to star mix they're ridiculously overpowered. In particular, the evil rod of blood does so much damage that its lifesteal makes you basically invincible, especially with how broken the prefixes are. Some of those prefixes, by the way, have such a huge value multiplier that it can cost hundreds of platinum to reforge again.

And, a couple unrelated issues: Sometimes the bobber goes straight through an enemy while still damaging them (Seems to only happen if it one-shots them), and the bob speed potion reduces the interval TO 25%, instead of BY 25%.

Does fishing power scale your damage? If it doesn't, it should. :3 Also maybe you could change some fish-based weapons that you fish up (the ones from the vanilla game, like bomb fish/reaver shark/frost daggerfish) to scale with the fishing damage as well.

This mod is absolutely ridiculous and extremely fun. The core idea is a meme but the execution isn't. I tried it for giggles at first, but I ended up doing a full playthrough with fishing only... Honestly I have a hard time believing how someone could have gone from "what if fishing killed things rofl" to the state of this project.

Ahh. so the All class damage tag was added in this implementation of the code, so you went with it over the Any class option for this port, at least for now? thanks for letting me know, and so soon. especially due to my use of various leveling mods that don't have the All clause for weapon improvement, this actually cuts into the upsides of this mod for me a decent deal. I was quite happy to see the original text in the description, but it seems that needs an edit if the old "Any class" clause continues to not be the case. im not the only one ive seen who'd really think that ability to pull bonuses from other stat increases a boon.

@(Seeking Eye) I forgot to edit the description, but the mod no longer calculates with the increase in other damages but instead only relies on Fishing Damage and All Damage (from stuff like the Celestial Shell). This was due to the new implementation of Damage Classes in TMod allowing for the All class. I might make an accessory or config option to re-add the "Any Class" later on, but for now, it's not really a bug that it is not calculating ie: ranged damage on the rod.

I wanted to try this mod a lot, so im glad to see it here. thanks for bringing it over. I love fishing in general, so fishing as a weapon is impressive.

one thing though... maybe it's just my mods at work, which would be understandable, but multiple sources of vanilla weapon damage improvements (armor meant for summoning in one instance, a levelup mod i used to give melee damage in another) is not showing any improvement to the fishing rods damage. i find this detail about the mod borrowing other damage stats a very big deal, so I'm wondering if it's just me, or is anyone else having this issue?
