Also, the link to the changelist is broken and i have no clue whatsoever what the reworks are besides appolyon.

(also as mentioned in comments, config menu spport would be amazing).

when i died as appolyon in multiplayer the game crash. This error is repeatable. just informing. (excellent mod, tyvm for making this).

@KingDragonReal Huh, that's extremely weird, I never encountered that kind of bug myself. Could be a load-order issue, or something in a repentance update screwed something up, I didn't playtest much in the latest updates. I'll look into it and update the mod in case I find anything.

@Naruy it does not disable the mod entirely but it removes the items from the characters and when I uninstall the mod they will randomly get the modded items back, it happens when I start the game up.

@KingDragonReal When exactly does this happen? Randomly when launching the game, in the middle of the play session or in the middle of the run? Also does the complete mod get disabled or just the new/changed items?

Amazing reworks it literally feels like a new game at this point, but there is one problem the mod decides to stop working at random, the characters get their old items and trinkets, no idea why this happens.

@Ze Über Man Oh, this mod shouldn't really interfere with anything related to the knife pieces. I wasn't aware of any issue like that, on my end it worked fine, might potentially be a weird compatibility issue with some other mod.

This mod is the best rework mod out there hands down. only problem is is that when you enter the mines 2 to get knife piece 2 it crashes the game:reonion:

@MrBalloons Isaac mods are loaded in the oder they appear in the mods folder, so alphabetically. Simplest would be to put a 1 and a 2 in front of the names and see if the order makes a difference. This mod won't get updated in the near future because of multiple reasons by the way, including real life. I want to make some changes to tainted characters some day but I'll wait for Ed and Vinh to update them themselves first. Also probably in a seperate mod. Only potential update coming to this mod some day would be MCM integration to optionally disable certain character changes.

I tried doing what you said in the first response, it actually worked without any issues! Now i'll only have to replace the contents every time one of the two gets updated. :(
Im Still okay with it, at leats now it works.
Anyway, "Load order"? Never heard of that, could you tell me what is it (I imagine it would be some kind of way in wich the game chooses wich mod to load first) and how to change it? :3

Stats are a bit different and more complicated. I thought those should still be fine though if the other mod you're using is purely visual. Try changing the load-order perhaps

Also, there is another problem, i could change the xml files, but things like Stats Changes aren't included in the xml Files. Is there a way to also change those?
Also, some of the stats get changed while others dont, and its pretty weird.

@MrBalloons That could be, because both change the players.xml, which is responsible for character stats like HP and also the costume sprite they're using. This is sadly a limitation of the game. I'm not too familiar with the Character Resprites Mod but you can probably make the two mods compatible by just opening the two xmls in an appropriate editor and copying the following values of each character from my mod's players.xml (in resources-dlc3 folder) and exchanging them with the one from CR's players.xml: hp="X" armor="X" black"X" items="X" coins="X" keys="X" bombs="X" card="X" trinket="X" achievement="X". Note that not every character uses every one of these values. Hope this helps!

In the description its told to tell about any problem or issues, so here i am.
I like this Mod quite a bit but i found a problem playing with it. There's a Pretty cool Mod called "Character Resprites" that changes visually almost all of the base characters. For some reason, while that mod is Active this one doesn't work at all. What could it be? After all that mod doesn't do anything but change the Visuals and this only changes Stats and adds Items, how are the two conflicting? D:

@Tarluk Characters like blue baby have innate damage multipliers, those, as far as I know, can't be changed without exe-modding.

I think the way of fixing this would be to use damage multipliers instead; if you want to, say, set Blue Baby's damage equal to that of Isaac's base damage, you use a 0.95x damage multiplier to counteract his existing 1.05x damage multiplier. Set Apollyon's damage to 3.0, and you'd use a 0.85x damage multiplier. It's not perfect, but it should be better than how it currently works.

@Naruy Did a bit of testing and I noticed that the way the damage stat is implemented has some weird interactions since it doesn't change the character's actual damage stat as much as it just adds or subtracts X from whatever the character's actual damage is.

For instance, with your change to Blue Baby to make his damage 2.5 instead of 3.67. When picking up Eve's Mascara, you'd expect it to increase his damage to 5, but instead it increases it up to 6.17. That's because normally 3.67 x 2 would be 7.34, but 7.34 - 1.17 = 6.17.

I noticed this first when I tried changing Blue Baby's damage to 3.5 (-0.17 instead of -1.17) and tried it with Soy Milk and instead of the damage being at 0.7, it was closer to 0.56; normally the damage of Blue Baby with Soy Milk would be 0.73, but subtract 0.17 and instead it's 0.56.

@Tarluk Yes, you can absolutely edit the main.lua, I tried to write it as clean as possible so it's easy to edit actually. Changing the tear stat is very complicated for some reason, since in afterbirth+ you had to change tears-delay and tear height, which also made wonky changes to range simultaneously. I think it has been changed in repentance in some way but I haven't figured out how, yet. Sorry

I've been intrigued by the stat changes this mod makes to the characters; I wonder if it'd be possible to use this mod's main.lua file as a base and edit it to add other stat changes to other characters? Is it possible to edit the tears stat in the lua file (and if so, how)?

could you make stand alone mods for these or make it able to turn some off in mod config as while i love some changes like lilith i actually really like apollyon as he is and don't want to have to turn on and off mods every time i wanna switch character

A last question (i hope) about the .anm2 file. It needly be in the same folder of the .png? And, i need delete these files from each mod's folder?

@Xew Yea of course it's legal. You only need to edit all the changed and newly added sprites into one single charactermenu.png. You can use photoshop or a similar program for that. The game uses the .anm2 file in the same folder to tell the game where exactly the wanted sprite is located in that png. To change the place where the game looks for the wanted sprite you need to open and edit the .anm2 with the IsaacAnimationEditor (steamapps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth\tools\IsaacAnimationEditor) if you don't see the editor, run the "ResourceExtractor" in the tools folder. Hope this helps. If you have more specific questions, there is a great video by Lytebringr on youtube covering the topic.

U have idea if i can do a "frankenstein" of charactermenu.png? because i have a lot of mods that alters charactermenu.png, like Decomposition (change the initial item of The Lost), and other who adds new characters and modify the charmenu too. My idea is put them together in an unique charactermenu.png, if is legal...

@Xew Do you have another mod installed that changes the character selection menu? This mod alters the charactermenu.png and charactermenu.anm2, any mods that mess with those files are not compatible by default sadly.

@Xew No, everything should work fine from the beginning and reworked characters should still unlock their additional items with getting their achievements, e.g. Anemic on lazarus after beating the Backasswards Challenge. If you notice an issue with unlocks please share it and I will look into it. In testing I didn't find an issue myself but it could always be possible I overlooked something.

Could you make it MCM compatible so we can disable the ones we don't want? (for example, I feel like any character starting with Rock Bottom is too strong, since it's one of the strongest Secret Room items, and would make Lazarus scale way too easily and quickly with strength, devil cards and the like)

Thank you, found it! Very good changes overall, I'll need to play them now to see how they feel but they seem v levelheaded, especially the Cain nerfs imo.
