@Ancravix can't, sorry
Ancravix May 2 @ 2:24am
Hi, can you make it so that the ID only shows on hover? Maybe in a popup. Sometimes long IDs overlap the cost
Silver Sokolova  [author] Apr 2 @ 11:07pm
@Wespy hi! not sure what you mean by item tag. this shows the ID's used by the game to refer to specific items, ie for spawnitem commands, recipes, etc
Wespy Apr 2 @ 7:20pm
Hi, is this ID the same as the "item tag"?

So basically the only way we could do it right now is manually do that. Like go into the tooltip for every single item and add the label that way. Which is as far as you can get from being practical. Damn.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jan 19, 2024 @ 12:30am
@ComradeCorvus not really. even with StarExtension's, we're just one layer off, so we'd have to guess the file name
ComradeCorvus Jan 18, 2024 @ 7:50pm
Is it possible to make a mod that just, says the name of the mod an item is from?
Silver Sokolova  [author] Sep 16, 2023 @ 8:09pm
@soundtoxin Thank you! I updated the mod to include its tooltips. If you see 'Version: 29' for Show Item Names in the in-game mods menu (the brown cog in the bottom-right of the title screen), you're running the updated version
soundtoxin Sep 16, 2023 @ 7:54pm
Indeed, I'm using "Weapon Stats" + "Legendary Tooltips". With that tool I see "soluskatana" and "LegendarySword".
Silver Sokolova  [author] Sep 16, 2023 @ 12:38pm
@soundtoxin You probably have a mod that replaces the tooltips for them. Can you use the Show Item Names analyzer in the Quickbar and tell me what it says when you hold one of those weapons, please?
soundtoxin Sep 16, 2023 @ 11:56am
It seemed like maybe none of the vanilla Legendary weapons showed their ID by default, but that's probably known. For example, soluskatana, but I went to my chest of other weapons and I think I noticed the same for the rest too.
DeLemmur Aug 25, 2023 @ 7:18pm
Well, i'm glad that there's also the analyzer in the quickbars, it could be inconvenient but a reliable method, thanks!
Silver Sokolova  [author] Aug 25, 2023 @ 12:00am
played around with a left-aligned price label. I don't think I'll go through with it, unfortunately. if you physically have the item in your inventory, you can open 'Show Item Names' in the quickbar to show the name without the price label
Silver Sokolova  [author] Aug 24, 2023 @ 11:16pm
@DeLemmur if those tooltips show the item ID, it's compatible. I can't do much for the text clipping over the price label, unfortunately, sorry. I'll look into moving the price label to the left side, and the rarity label slightly to the right, but no guarantees
DeLemmur Aug 24, 2023 @ 8:37pm
Could you add compatibility to GiC's tooltips? Its overlapping on the pirce tags and make it difficult to see the items. Thanks!
忆无心(Yiwuxin) Aug 9, 2023 @ 1:21am
Thank YOU!
Kenchi Jul 7, 2023 @ 12:10pm
Understandable. I'm sure there is a lot that goes into this stuff that flies way over my head. Thanks tho! (Honestly, I unsubscribed for a bit. Tho now I need it to figure out what all this stuff in my game is from, so back to my load order it comes >w<)
Silver Sokolova  [author] Jul 4, 2023 @ 7:54am
@Kenchi I'm glad you like it! Unfortunately it's a problem on FU's end-- SIN uses the position of the rarity label for the item ID label (or a fallback default position if there isn't a rarity label position). FU has rarity label positions defined in its itemdescription files
Kenchi Jul 4, 2023 @ 2:15am
Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to get rid of this mod... BUT! It does screw with Frackin Universe's UI. Is that possible to fix?
❀Phopshra❀ Jun 26, 2023 @ 4:14am
you are the god
Commander May 4, 2023 @ 7:54am
Silver, you are so cool. This is so cool.
Nephirus90 May 3, 2023 @ 8:27am
Thank YOU! :D
Silver Sokolova  [author] May 2, 2023 @ 9:21pm
@Nephirus90 Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I added those tooltips to the list
Nephirus90 May 2, 2023 @ 4:42am
Hello, thank you for this mod, really a timesaver for modders!
I'm not sure if you have time, but here a couple of missing tooltips I found:
-"angelbow" (Angels of Starbound)
-"holystaff" (Angels of Starbound)
-"armornewaugment" (some mods using this)
Scarlet flame Feb 17, 2023 @ 7:52pm
Aww :/ Oh well thanks for checking
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 17, 2023 @ 7:40pm
@Scarlet flame I just checked FU's files and it's an issue on their end. Their rarity label is in the same position as SIN's default name label position
Silver Sokolova  [author] Feb 17, 2023 @ 12:54pm
@Scarlet flame The mod uses the position of the rarity label of the tooltip it's patching, and FU's happens to either doesn't have a rarity label (in which case a default position is used) or its rarity labels are shown over the stats. I'll look into adding an exception to the default position for FU tooltips when I get home (in about 6-8 hours).

Thank you!!
Scarlet flame Feb 17, 2023 @ 10:14am
This mod kind of conflicts with frackin, every time i have to craft armor the name of the item is shown over the stats of the item, is hard to read, could u fix it? Apart from that great mod :D
FLACFREAK Jan 13, 2023 @ 6:44pm
works well, but has an issue where longer item names get obscured by the item value
💖 Officer Hotpants 💖 Dec 21, 2022 @ 4:11pm
Wow. Didn't realize it before but you've made quite a few of the recent additions to my list.
💖 Officer Hotpants 💖 Dec 15, 2022 @ 9:14pm
Oh god, I've needed this.
KhaosDuck Dec 11, 2022 @ 12:12am
Oh yay! You told me of this owo
AvnoHaveNoArts Nov 5, 2022 @ 7:03pm
HELLL YEAH!! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Thanks Man!
ArTDrifter Oct 9, 2022 @ 11:08am
This mod is just a requirement for a game as Starbound.
Hell, even Minecraft have option to show item ID's.

Found the issue being improved food descriptions.
Silver Sokolova  [author] May 12, 2022 @ 9:57am
@Dragonova it's added by SIN
Dragonova May 12, 2022 @ 2:14am
Wait is that a base function of Quickbar Mini or addon?
Silver Sokolova  [author] May 11, 2022 @ 5:20pm
@Dragonnova it works for them. Chances are you have a mod doing Stupid Things:tm: (ie: replacing tooltip/itemdescription files instead of patching them) or are using a mod with a tooltip unknown to SIN. If you have Quickbar Mini, you can see the item's tooltip name with it.
Dragonova May 11, 2022 @ 1:53am
Does this not work for apothecary items?
Ashtar Mar 30, 2022 @ 9:36pm
I understand, thanks for the answer
Silver Sokolova  [author] Mar 30, 2022 @ 8:55pm
Thank you! Unfortunately, such a mod is impossible to make
Ashtar Mar 30, 2022 @ 6:51pm
amazing mod and one question
have a mod make the same this on minecraft which shows what mod the item is from
Which Mod Is This From?
Sandbox Enjoyer Jan 4, 2022 @ 3:30pm
Ah yes
Well there is a "true name mod" that does something like that, but it doesn't seem to work on non-vanilla items
Silver Sokolova  [author] Dec 14, 2021 @ 11:16am
I could, but I don't want to
JeanySushiBox Dec 14, 2021 @ 9:20am
can you make type a item that makes us show the item on it?
like the inespection tool, but for items ID
Dekeon Dec 2, 2021 @ 6:32am
oh man, a version of this that works with mods too. thank you much.
Silver Sokolova  [author] Nov 19, 2021 @ 6:42am
no
Doodlinka Nov 19, 2021 @ 5:33am
is it possible to show the original item name if something in a crafting menu becomes a perfectly generic item?
