Interesting mod but it works without really working. Pathing is really terrible and does not pickup loot unless you stack multiple loot range upgrade which is not optimal not useful.

Great mod but would need some serious fixing...

Still working, just do as Boxes said. Set it to "Loot" in the Galaxy Map and you're good.

i have it working in galaxy map overlay... they will not start while you are in the ship... but working :D
I only had to change the max variable in the "modinfo.lua" files in this mods folder to "3.*".
did it to both directory's to be safe

I am on the beta brannch and this works well. That is, with two minor hiccups. 1. When I am on the ship the command will not start. So I hop out issue the map command and hop back in. 2. It is a bit dumb about pathing when there is a lot of debris. So I just put three or more tractor beam upgrades on the ship and that fixes 95% of the pathing issues.

In case anyone is wondering just activate the command then enter drone or another ship then it should work, or start it without being in the ship. the path finding is still kinda broken ship rarely gets close enough to actually pickup the loot, and is stopped by the tiniest piece of salvage.

When i use it, it does not take control of autopilot and says there is no loot to find in the sector. when i can clearly see a turret/credits floating in the distance.

The firs issue I've found was predictable. It is incompatible with: 1.0 Orders and Looping [Beta 2.0]

I haven't used it heavily, but it's fixed for me with 2.X now. If you find a problem, please report it. And at this point using the <NUM>.99.9 format is practically a tradition for my mods.

You might want to know that instead of max = "2.99.9" you can use a wildcard; max = "2.*" will make what I believe you're aiming for.

Some of us even do max = "*.*" as a fire and forget.

I couldn't avoid to see the last update with the 2.x compatibility note. If you require some help, testing or anything, please let me know. I'm missing this mod so hard.

At this point, there really isn't one and I would recommend using the original version. This fork was made when the original wasn't working with current avorion releases. Now that the original is being maintained again, my version doesn't have any advantages.
