The sign is part of the building but you can get rid of props by loading it into the asset editor in the game. You can choose to load an asset with existing props, but don't click that and you'll have a prop free version to decorate as you prefer :) I've downloaded a lot of cool signs but haven't come across a standing 7 - 11 sign yet.

It would be cool to have this with no props and the sign separate.
