I am playing an enchantress build who only uses staves... and this is INVALUABLE at higher levels. Yes, it is overpowered, but when this staff is the only staff you use in offense... (The other hand uses soul-trapping staff) It's almost essential that this staff remains this way. Thank you so much!
Reimu Hakurei x3 Aug 14, 2015 @ 2:07pm
You COULD also make a version of this mod that has those same effects but only a very limited charge, like 10 seconds or so. I can make the mod but I don't wana steal your idea. x3
Warsun Nov 16, 2014 @ 3:32pm
Yeah just a bit too powerful. No challenge to use.
Professor chaos Nov 7, 2014 @ 12:02pm
i already duped the staff so now i run around with two fo them!
Zoanthrope Apr 19, 2014 @ 1:36am
Infinite charge would be nice though. ;)
Zoanthrope Apr 19, 2014 @ 1:30am
Finally Lord Magnus, creator of the sun and all magic in Nirn, gets the respect he deserves!
Klaptrap Feb 12, 2014 @ 11:59pm
To OP to be fun
Bane The Titan Feb 2, 2014 @ 11:34pm
steam keeps giving me a download error message that it cant be downloaded so i cant use the mod even if i subscribe
@Dawn's1stLight Dec 4, 2013 @ 4:37am
There's an idea for you . Why not nerfing a bit those numbers and instead make it of infinite charge ? How's that , for a feeling of a really powerful staff ?
LHAV Oct 26, 2013 @ 2:00am
YEP and Honestly compared to Daedric or Aedric weapons I could Enchant my Own sword which i'v improved with 10X more power then these "god" items so theres hardly any "Balance" in making them pieces of scrap metal.
Sir Nukesalot Aug 29, 2013 @ 2:46am
but seriously, kinda surprised that i have found an op weapon, that somehow fits into the game perfectly
Sir Nukesalot Aug 29, 2013 @ 2:45am
>beware, for this staff can destroy anything in its wake including all of tamriel
>takes what feels like hours to kill troll
The Tempted Man Aug 26, 2013 @ 11:27am
I can't argue with your logic. A staff was a piece of shit, compared to all the boasting about Magnus.
Blackfire Valkryie Aug 1, 2013 @ 8:38pm
Great mod. finally the staff of magnus gets some respect. alittle over powered for anything on lower difficulties. That being said it kicks ASS!
Scythe Jul 12, 2013 @ 6:54pm
This was a very well made mod i to was disappointed with the vanilla staff of Magnus, and when i got it (Vanilla) i was like........WTF i spent so much time to get this peace of shit??? But thanks to you i pone so thank you for this awesome mod.
Y.Fish May 28, 2013 @ 4:20pm
I like this mod, and I think that such an overpowered staff of Magnus fits with the in-game lore surrounding it, but I had to unsubscribe because the fight with Morokei was kicking my ass! Might resubscribe after I defeat him, even though that feels a little like cheating...
Frosty Mist May 25, 2013 @ 2:48am
Can you make an option for it in which you can also stab with the bottom of the staff or plunge it into your enemies?
rfphoenix May 22, 2013 @ 12:15pm
I wasn't sure this mod would work well with my current mod's but OMG this weapon is the bomb! I went after Oncano and waisted him very quickly with the staff of Magus! Thank you very much for this wonderful weapon. :)
Seagne May 20, 2013 @ 11:49pm
@KazuHiro He meant "Aedra" the High Elf word for the Divines.
thicc bricc May 19, 2013 @ 6:29am
@[KhLe]Witchhunter - Thankyou, I had never known that Mangus was a Daedra, thanks for the explanation.

@Camwigger - I completely agree with you the daedric artifacts are rather dumbed down than from Oblivion and Morrowind. I mean, look at the prices. Daedric artifacts just aren't meant to be sold.

@Leopard305 - What I meant was, in short, not a staff that can kill several in seconds, it would take much of the challenge out of the game.
Cloud May 19, 2013 @ 1:29am
keep up the balance-work!
UraniumStag May 19, 2013 @ 1:18am
KazuHiro: Magnus was a mortal? You have got something wrong, friend. Magnus was an Et'Ada, or a God, just like any other, and he is the only known Aedra to have escaped the creation of Mundus without losing any of his power. He is -definetely- not a mortal.

Ask yourself this: If Auriel's Bow was in the hands of mortals... Does that make him mortal too? Certainly not.
Pot_Bunny May 18, 2013 @ 8:31pm
YES!!! this is exactley what I thought when I got the staff, and it will finally rise to it's name, thanks!
*** May 18, 2013 @ 1:23am
cool!
Toruk May 17, 2013 @ 6:14pm
I understand that you want it to be ... well more,. you could have made the effects and the way the effects are displayed a little more. But that. well i guess if I feel a bit cheaty i would use it ...
Kaldor Draigo May 17, 2013 @ 1:28am
The staff of Magnus Fits its power that you gave it for the Eye of Magnus was also powerfull so the staff has to be nearly just as powerful. Thanks for the improvement :D
Leopard305 May 16, 2013 @ 11:09pm
@KazuHiro; If its overpowered for you, wouldn't it just be easier to not use it?
thicc bricc May 16, 2013 @ 6:10pm
I like the Idea, and it does indefinately go towards how the staff should be, however there are a few things. The staff's stats are technically a godmod weapon, and, Skyrim is not too keen on having anything very godlike, past Daedric Artifacts of course. What I mean to say is, this overpowers pretty much all of the Daedric Artifacts combined. IF the staff of Mangus was supposed to be an all powerful object that could wipe out everything in the world, it probably wouldent be in the hands of a Mortal being. Also, since this overpowers the Daedric Artifacts, does it imply that Magnus, who WAS a MORTAL (Just a diety in magick), had the power to surpass all of the Daedric Princes? I agree that the staff was not to powered my expectations, but it sould be toned down wuite a bit.

~ Thankyou.
Vultrae May 16, 2013 @ 8:06am
Waayyyy to overpowered, i understand making it powerful, but thats almost an instant kill. The title should b changed to: COMPLETELY OVERPOWERED STAFF OF MAGNUS
WARNING: OVERPOWEREd
UraniumStag May 16, 2013 @ 5:56am
In my opinion, if you just removed the charge (I really do not get charges for divine artifiacts, such as Auriel's Bow and the Daedric Artifacts), it would be amazing. Then again, I can do that myself. Nice mod, deserves a good rating, yet I do not want to use it myself.
The Odd Peculiar™ May 16, 2013 @ 1:55am
Love the fact that its stronger, a little too strong perhaps?
Lore says that the Eye of Magnus had the power to destroy Tamriel, but the staff itself is its counter part and hence forth is perfect as lore describes in vanilla.
Love it, but not gonna use this mod :)
Eden May 15, 2013 @ 11:04pm
This is a good idea indeed , The Staff of Magnus is to be the most pwerfull staff of all right ? but quckly i put it on my weapon shelf becouse it simply sucked .
Slaine_ May 15, 2013 @ 10:09pm
This is great! To everyone else saying it shouldn't be in the hands of a mortal... for one: if you've come this far in the college quest it usually means that you have some sort of skill in magica, making you more that just a normal mortal considering that you would know enough about magic to be able to wield such a staff and claim the position of archmage. I think you did well by increasing the damage and it actually feels like a good reward for taking down such a powerful sorcerer and claiming the college.
Armistice  [author] May 15, 2013 @ 9:58pm
If I'm going to be completely honest about the staff's damage, I meant for it to do 50 damage across all categories but forgot about a change that I had made earlier. As such, it doubled the damage that it did. I found out about it when I tested it and then was too lazy to fix it before uploading.
NaNaHaygen May 15, 2013 @ 4:41pm
perfectly op
Kristen May 15, 2013 @ 3:24pm
I agree with lorenzoregalado and DaedricHampster. Still, keeping a tag on this! Also, guys ... look up the general info of Magnus. He was actually a god.
DaedricHamster May 15, 2013 @ 8:57am
I agree with lorenzoregalado, the new enchantments are just a bit insane...it doesn't really make sense that some random guy could pick it up and go on an unstopable rampage of destruction, it should be toned down to be more in line with the higher end Daedric artifacts or something like that; a mortal could never hope to compete with Magnus' mastery of magicka.
Other than that, great mod :D
DangerBeast May 14, 2013 @ 4:05am
Mmmm, Love that Magnus.
Scarpia May 13, 2013 @ 3:25am
It should be powerfull, but not op. Sure it can destroy all of Tamriel, but it is in hands of a mortal, so it should be based on your mages skills, not that every dumbass can use it correctly ^^
Fredrick M May 13, 2013 @ 1:08am
"This is very overpowered, however, I feel that it more closely fits what the staff should have been. Given that the Eye of Magnus has the power to destroy Tamriel, the Staff should have the power to kill everything on Tamriel." Armistice Day

Me: Seems legit.
afederowicz May 12, 2013 @ 11:22pm
This Staff is Spot-On !!! It is exactly as you stated. The stock staff in the game is not at all in propper porportion to The power of the Magnus Spere. Could you possibly create Spell Tome book, that would be found in the high mage quarters, that would extend even further when dual hand casted ? Anyway I give your mod a 10/10, because it truely fixes a Major quest Item of Skyrim. I under stand about almost quitting the game, because of how weaak the original is, and sure am glad you decided to fix it :-)
Rocketman Dan May 12, 2013 @ 6:30am
Shame I lost the staff.
Jake May 11, 2013 @ 9:16pm
this sounds like a nice mod. im going to try it out cause when i first got the staff it was so underpowerd that i just quit. thanks for modding this dude.
ElliZarah May 11, 2013 @ 5:47pm
Um, Magnus is lore friendly. The staff has been in past ES games. To say it's not lore friendly is like saying Sheogorath isn't lore friendly.
The Tempted Man May 11, 2013 @ 10:46am
Fuck if it's OP, Magnus wasn't lore friendly either.
Karrfis May 10, 2013 @ 8:57am
cool! much better
