I read your interview on Kotaku about how Islamic Art can influence game design. It's really interesting. Please release this game. :mom:

Will buy, no hesitation. But, slightly better graphics would be appreciated. just something like shading effects would be a major improvement.

decent concept, terrible aesthetics. I would play it if you hired a better artist

Seems like it'll be a rage game eventually with all the timing and combinations you have to figure out.

For a minute I thought this was about the Album by Ian Brown.

Looks incredibly well thought out! I'd really like to see this greenlit!

Checking this out, via Patrick Kelepek on GiantBomb.

I like to see more simple games but, at the same time, but feep dynamic and gameplay. Voted yes
Kherven 29. kvě. 2013 v 9.16
Voted for it after seeing the Quicklook from Giantbomb, good luck!
Thaetriah 29. kvě. 2013 v 3.21
Voted yes. Support the developer and he'll create more interesting games instead of leaving the industry!
Rezzolution 28. kvě. 2013 v 11.25
Also really hoping this game does well so we can see more of what he can do (as he mentions possibly leaving the games industry) so let's show some support!
Rezzolution 28. kvě. 2013 v 11.22
Very interesting looking game. Looking forward to checking it out after listening to the developer's talk given at Game Connection Europe. Gonna buy it on Desura if it doesn't get released on here.
Captain Electric 28. kvě. 2013 v 0.32
I'd buy it if it had better graphics, however I'll vote for it because I want more dedicated, heartful, soulful programmers like you in the industry. I do buy an awful lot of games with bad graphics for their gameplay, but I think this game in particular would benefit from simple, beautiful, but modern graphics and bloom effects. Here's to seeing you get there.
prof 25. kvě. 2013 v 17.25
Ambitious in an interesting way. Good luck!

Looks like an interesting little diversion.

Just saw the Giant Bomb quick look and this looks really neat. From art to music, it seems to have a really nice atmosphere for solving some interesting looking puzzles in. Nice stuff!
Caerith 21. kvě. 2013 v 14.09
The Giant Bomb quick look sold me on it.
^3burlap 19. kvě. 2013 v 0.40
It looks neat, but I don't think it'd keep me occupied for very long.

I can only hope that people will take the time to see what it is and vote on that, and not vote based on what they think it is.
euclid's halberd 1. kvě. 2013 v 9.29
As cool as this game looks, I can't say I'd purchase it. It feels too lo-fi in a way that I can't quite describe.
Messofanego 1. kvě. 2013 v 5.03
Islamic tile art? SOLD Love seeing those in mosques.

Although I guess I could just buy this right now on Desura :P
liminal18 29. dub. 2013 v 21.19
this looks pretty cool and fairly original so I voted for it, however I do think it needs a slight graphical over haul before being "steam quality". the game play fascinates me though.
Unalek 27. dub. 2013 v 22.05
This game is incredible! It's challenging, fun, and brilliant. It's focus is physics with music and other difficult stuff that I hate, but it simply made me happy! Check out my review here: http://youtu.be/r8dapzzjzgA
Power of Seven 27. dub. 2013 v 20.02
I am upvoting your game, but you're going to have a hard time getting this game Greenlit. Many gamers will vote based on graphics and since your game has simple graphics, they will instantly vote no. Also, mentioning the word "Islamic" in the description--even though the game is not really religious in theme--will cause closed-minded people to immediately vote no.
Ciirulean 27. dub. 2013 v 9.32
A game about throwing balls at angles? No thanks.
franknb 26. dub. 2013 v 11.48
you should be paying us to play this, not the other way around
Doomerang 26. dub. 2013 v 5.56
I don't want to see religious games making their way on here.
Kurywusaki 26. dub. 2013 v 5.13
Meh the whole religious theme doesn't really help.
StrappingYoungLance 26. dub. 2013 v 1.17
I'm not fond of the visuals, but the concept looks great.
Resolute 25. dub. 2013 v 18.51
The graphics are definately an impediment to getting greenlit, or even to getting higher slaes on other channels.

I think if you upgraded the graphics (A LOT) you would have a much more marketable game.

voting no because even though I like the concept and the sound the graphics (other than the glass patterns) are simply terrible.
matrixbadger 25. dub. 2013 v 1.11
Always happy to support a fellow Yorkie!
Locutus 23. dub. 2013 v 9.27
Helped beta test this game. Absolutely magical experience- deserves all the exposure it can get.

Do you have a way for press to contact you about doing a review?
Inverse Square  [autor] 22. dub. 2013 v 15.16
Yah I can give excuses if you like. Although I will say I respect that as consumers there is no reason for you guys to care about them ;) I know there are games out there whose visuals get stronger development.

The blurring is indeed there to help you concentrate on the foreground/"gameplay layer"; doing so is really difficult otherwise. I put myself in a difficult position: Islamic stained glass has extremely prominent colours. Blurring does help! Maybe there are better solutions, but... yeah, budget guys! I will tell you that no playtester ever reported eye strain :)

By the way since I'm putting the game on Desura (hopefully tomorrow >>) for $4.99 I am hoping a demo won't be necessary. $4.99 is what it would cost here by the way. Also the game is meant to be played in one sitting; the format of "demo/full version" doesn't really suit a game like that.
Christ Catnap 22. dub. 2013 v 12.05
@Inverse Square: I read the Wikipedia; on the song... of course, I knew I had ‘heard’ the tune, nice. But I definitely had no idea otherwise.

Have you contemplated doing a Demo for the Game?

And have you considered running the backgrounds through Photoshop or the like, and perhaps adjusting the width of the blurred black lines; making them sharper and thin, I just asked what?

I reason that many of these gamers have the brightness, contrast and gamma correction set for games that are rather dark, often a default game setting. And your backgrounds are bright but out-of-focus so to speak. I wonder if this is the trouble that spurs the commentary on graphics.

You see, while I typically set mine for color accuracy because I use Adobe stuff, yesterday I adjusted the setting for viewing Among the Sleep, a dark and atmospheric game.
Christ Catnap 22. dub. 2013 v 12.04
Well upon my return to your Greenlight page I did notice a difficulty or distraction rather, while watching the screen captures role by. I can only reason that the gamers are freaking out about the background graphics because their eyes are finding it impossible to focus on them. I also notice the ‘aura’ that you have incorporated, most apparent in the 30sec. portion of the first video, which gives the ‘blurring’, movement.

And while you might explain that it is this way to bring out the foreground sprites and produce atmospheric depth; most gamers these days would seem to have burnt their eyes out, and rely on high contrast and sharp lines to be comfortable when staring at a cheap monitor for hour upon hours.

I’m afraid that another solution must be found to overcome this unfortunate first-impression.
bluemime86 22. dub. 2013 v 9.46
graphics just look too unprofessional and unpolished, and a little color theory might be in order for the compositions in this game. .... the graphics are too trippy and bad for my taste, what the heck... SUPER TRIPPY!!
1800-EAT-SHIT 22. dub. 2013 v 5.06
Great concept, however the currently graphics just look too unprofessional and unpolished.
