Excellent game, with lots of potential. I only have a few suggestions:
1. Add nukes. A huge part of the Cold War was the threat of nuclear weapons wiping out civilizations. While I understand that most people would dick around with it and use it to blow each other up, you could make it really expensive, or make it so that certain conditions only allow you to use them.
2. More countries. The Cold War consisted of a lot more countries than the US and The USSR(the countries that were in NATO and the Warsaw Pact). Adding more countries would offer more opportunities, make the game more intense, and offer bigger multiplayer matches.
3. Money. This one might just be me being a dumbass(no surprise there) but I noticed that the amount of money you have never goes below 200, but I can never use that money. Again, it could just be that I didn't read the directions fully(I only watched the tutorial video)

Hi NOD48, thx for the voting! I'm planning to present the strategy of developing for the sequel at the end of August or mid September. I'm currently working on another game and I want to release the first Alpha of the new game this August. As soon as it's done I will be back to the TCWE.
乃木栄46 2 aug, 2014 @ 7:09
I just stumbled upon this from watching some old videos of Crisis in the Kremlin and it looks awesome. Voted up. That said, with you soon to release a sequel to the game, will you be focusing on getting that up on Steam instead of this one?

It looks superb.

I'm looking forward what this turns out to be. Keep improving your game and working hard on it, it's got a way to go. The historical era is indeed very fascinating, and maing a game about it is awesome. I hope to see this come to fruition :)

Where is demo?
Pankamil 28 feb, 2014 @ 12:16
You should really work on your HUD. It is basically a huge rectangle positioned dangerously close to the center of the screen. I definately won't observe the map in the these non-hidden bottom corners on the sides of the screen, so this place is completely wasted. There's a good reason why RTS games have wide and low-positioned HUDs, covering entirely the bottom of the screen, to save the biggest possible area for the map. Look at the interface in modern grand strategies, like Europa Universalis 4 and Cruseder Kings II – their HUDs are very small, but perfectly readable anyway. And, basically, graphical style of your HUD looks outdated, making your game look a lot older, while your map itself is not really bad. Presentation of your game is very, very important, and you probably experienced it through comments. Good luck with your work, i hope your game will keep getting better and better :).

Shang - Any critic is welcome. If you take a look on comments on different pages you will notice many criticisms. It’s never been censored. Any comments about the game are welcome. Your comment is mostly critic too and no actions are taken to censor it. At the same time, any personal abuse toward any of the game developers will be removed. Removing the abuse toward game developers is not censoring the game critics.

Max Sprin No developer ever got anywhere with censoring critics, in fact getting butthurt over it and acting like it will only earn you more backclash.

As for the game:
Graphics looks like made by a 12y old in computer class in 2001. I could prolly make better just in few hours of photoshop.

Gameplay basically is a numbers game, heavily imitating Twiligh Struggle, without the fun part.

Historical fluff? Just some random low les videos without any relations to the event are playing the in the corner, serving no actuall purpose. You could basically slap any theme to this game and it wouldn't matter much. (World war 1/2, World War over candy). And I say this as someone with a degree in International Relations.

Man, this really makes me want a Twilight Struggle version for the PC. That's such an elegant treatment of the Cold War
76561197972578478 6 feb, 2014 @ 11:55
So this is basically a cheap pc clone of Twilight Struggle?
Max Sprin  [skapare] 5 feb, 2014 @ 19:24
Any game critic is welcome! Please, let me know what part of the game can be improved by your opinion or what exactly you didn’t like in the game. Thank you for your time and I hope you might like the game if you try to play it just once again. Thank you! )))
Max Sprin  [skapare] 18 jan, 2014 @ 12:07
Thanks for your reply.

1- Framerate depends on the configuration of gamers PC but yeah, it happens to many players. A better optimization of codes would help it a little. Luckily for us it doesn't affect the game play and the game speed. I agree it could be a little bit better )))

2- I know about the news bug. The news displays wrongly very rare. For example it happens to me once or twice per game. It happens when US or SU supports revs by military in other countries. Unfortunately it is connected to the game design and can’t be fixed at the moment.
Bafooba 18 jan, 2014 @ 11:27
The news for other countries sometimes were displayed wrong. (ie: USA's news for USSR.)
I guess I was overexaggerating when I said "a lot." because the only other problem I can think of was the framerate dropping for seemingly no reason.
Max Sprin  [skapare] 18 jan, 2014 @ 11:18
Hi all and thx for all you comments. Bafooba, please, let me know what kind of problems you found in the game?
Bafooba 18 jan, 2014 @ 10:54
Interesting, a lot of depth.

I'd buy it If it were finished, I ran into a lot of problems in the demo.
Laggie 15 jan, 2014 @ 23:25

Love how that lady is reading a script (look at her eyes) while she is talking about the game :) Voted for it, hope it will be available on steam soon.
HADES2001 18 dec, 2013 @ 13:02
you were going to play as the USA so you clicked USA to select USA.... i didnt know what to expect... just kidding looks intresting but just not for me
Rabbidking 15 okt, 2013 @ 22:00
Sounds intereresting, and I do like the idea of the video screen. However, I'm a bit worried that the interface obscures a bit too much of the map, and I don't think the combat mechanics were explained too well. Also, as I'm sure this has been mentioned before, the map seems a bit too bland. The symbols for events look a bit too small, and it doesn't look like much changes throughout a match.

This still gets an upvote from me, but there are definitely some areas that can be polished up a lot more. But, it looks like you guys are on the right track. Good luck!

ADD IT!!! Supreme Ruler Cold War was a massive failure. Hopefully this is better!
thedfv 5 sep, 2013 @ 4:52
I really wanted to like this game. I really did. But It's just way too boring and bland. Gameplay is very confusing at first, no in-game tutorial or anything. Nobody ever online. Do not purchase this game, for it has an outrageous amount for even the normal edition 30 bucks. It's not worth it, overall, 4/10
Rick Colemen 3 sep, 2013 @ 8:54
This is looks interesting! But, I wouldn't pay £30 for a game like this, £10 maybe
Cimmaron 10 aug, 2013 @ 17:40
If the price is right, I will be interested. The Cold War doesn't get that many strategy games, but I think this could be an interesting change.
Kurisu 20 jul, 2013 @ 13:01
I am sorry but 30$ is not worth it. Very simple gameplay and very outdated, ugly graphics. For such money you can just buy Civilization V with expansions and have MUCH more fun... But this is just my opinion, no hard feelings. I was genuinely interested since I'm a fan of this historical period.
mikeydsc 15 jul, 2013 @ 22:23
yep like war games based on history
alfredtc_1 11 jul, 2013 @ 1:19
I brought the game from Gamersgate yesterday for $29. I am a big friend on cold war era games. After playing 1 hour I unistall it from my PC. It's a way too simple and player only job is add fund to Influence,Military,Spies and space race.No rescarch, diplomatic, army force etc, Terrible graphic (actually a world map)... Please think twice before spend your hard earn money on this.

The review from Geek Insider:

Yggdrasil 5 jul, 2013 @ 6:16
I would definitely like to see more world strategy games on Steam. This one is interesting for its historical perspective. Does it include any economic or tech research features? Can you get bogged down in brushfire wars (Vietnam, Afghanistan)?
Scytail 4 jul, 2013 @ 8:40
Historical Value is incredible, featuring actual cold war footage. The idea of being able to win militaristically or peacefully is great as well. And the way the game is drawn out graphically makes me feel like I'm back in an ATARI game. I definitely wouldn't pay a lot of money for this game, max $10 probably, but it would be a fun game to play. I'm glad there's a multiplayer feature as well.

Yvonneka 16 jun, 2013 @ 12:31
Firstly, you guys really need to get a HD version of the video above on youtube. There really is not excuse for having 480p videos in this day and age, especially if you're trying to promote a game in which you have to read a large portion of the text. In addition, I think the colors and styles of the menus need some tweaking. They seem a bit dated, although that may be the look you were going for, however the color combinations don't say Cold War, or Soviet Union era to me, but rather mid 90's AOL internet.
Zanthalas 8 jun, 2013 @ 14:22
This is a really well done strategy-like concept. I'm not too impressed with the art for the menus, but it's not a big deal.
