I am, but progress is going slowly, as it is not my only thing to do in my already sparse free time at the moment. Nevertheless, I would be excited to see different approaches to the same subject!
Simco Oct 11, 2018 @ 2:08pm
Hey, are you still making this mod? I was thinking of doing something similar
germbob Aug 17, 2018 @ 1:26pm
this is an amazing concept, was curious if theres a way to stop grimers from spawning though. Made a mountain base and they're just filling up all my rooms.
tawasi_IIk Jun 5, 2018 @ 5:32am
oh OK! I am looking forward to it.
Good luck with the exam
Sili  [author] Jun 4, 2018 @ 2:50pm
Sorry, I am currently very busy with exams and so on...
Thanks for your prediction, I will look into it when I have time :)
tawasi_IIk Jun 4, 2018 @ 9:06am
Um ... ... Maybe you did not understand what I was talking about in my poor English? If so, I'm sorry.
tawasi_IIk Jun 1, 2018 @ 9:11am
Although it is a prediction, character saving using MOD EdB Prepare Carefully does not work due to the influence of Pokemon skill of character skill ('; ω; `) Is not it probably resolved if it integrates with animal skill?
I love this mod. I am expecting an upcoming update.
Sili  [author] May 29, 2018 @ 2:19pm
I am happy you are enthusiastic about it :) I AM still working on it, but im in midst of finnishing my bachelor and cannot spent much time on working on it currently, but after that I will be right back for it :) thx for your suggestions, I got a little book full of ideas myself, but will surely consider every suggestion :)
bell3636 May 29, 2018 @ 11:30am
Sorry to be presumptive but i got excited and wanted to share my ideas.
bell3636 May 29, 2018 @ 11:29am
Ideas i had:

Pigs - Slowpoke -> Slowbro -> Slowking - Slow moving but Psychic powers means they can send things to stock piles.
Chinchilla - Minccino -> Cinccino - The Chinchilla pokemon and are known for their obsessive cleaning so they could be useful to help keep the home area clean.
Beaver - Bidoof -> Bibarel - Beaver pokemon that could help by chopping down trees to provide the colony with wood.
Megasloth - Teddiursa -> Ursaring - This evolution chain could be good defenders as well as helping haul large mounts in their Ursaring form and a little in their Teddiursa.
Cow - Miltank - an obvious means for colonist to get milk but as they are all female they cant breed.
Capybara - Lillipup -> Herdier -> Stoutland - dog Pokemon that can find things hidden in grass and dirt.
Boomalope - Voltorb -> Electrode - like Mareep they give off alot of electricity but also have the tendency to explode and can be made to explode in battle either to defend, attack or clear areas for construction.
bell3636 May 29, 2018 @ 5:23am
im excited to finally try this mod. Are you still working on this still and thinking of adding some new pokemon?
Hazardous May 5, 2018 @ 11:50pm
you should makw female tauros look like miltank
MiamiHurricane Mar 30, 2018 @ 5:56pm
btw my ultraballs are coming out as great balls...im not sure if its because the person doesnt have the high enough pokemon skill(6 i think) or something else
MiamiHurricane Mar 30, 2018 @ 5:44pm
are these "A dog said" compatiable? I have the easy patcher but it isnt working for me
Sili  [author] Mar 27, 2018 @ 3:57pm
All pokemon evolve with age if there is no other special condition (check out the ludeon forum entry if you havent already, I try to document everything in detail there). The current ages are 0-10 mareep, 10-15 flaaffy, 15+ ampharos. Those numbers may seem completely random, because there is not enough data for me to balance it (yet). I dont know how it "feels" in terms of a long playthrough.
MiamiHurricane Mar 27, 2018 @ 2:50pm
are pokemon evolution stages tied with age? I want to work with the mareep charge station but do the animals evolve out of that stage? how many days/quaddrums or years can each mareep use a station till it evolves?
Sili  [author] Mar 26, 2018 @ 6:42am
Dont be sorry, it makes me happy that people like my mod enough, to make suggestions :) dont hold back! :D
The taming value on ALL pokemon is so low that taming with a usual taming skill should almost be impossible (but you are right, tauros is meant to be one of the more stubborn). I actually dont know why there is no symbol on them, i will add it to my todo list.
Catching non pokemon with pokeballs is NOT possible.
A possibility for playing with vanilla creatures is already implemented BUT im not sure if it works 100% correct. Sadly, as it is right now, you will have to start over new for having both. There is a checkbox in the storyteller menu. I will try to improve that in future iterations.
I am kinda busy IRL currently so next patch will need some more time.
MiamiHurricane Mar 24, 2018 @ 7:13am
btw i would like to have the pokemon AND vanilla creatures, just like the other commenter said....im sorry for flooding your page with so many comments but I think its a good idea to have ALL creatures as a option for the players to choose....i subscribe to these different animal mods because i like the variety...if the pokeballs work on vanillla creatures then great, that should be the point. A pokemon is nothing more than another creature.
MiamiHurricane Mar 23, 2018 @ 3:11pm
hey just a fyi, unless this was already covered in the text but i didnt read it i cant tame the tauros only hunt them, there is no button to tame... are they just naturally too wild to be tamed by ''pokemon canon'' standards? or is it just a conflict in my game? Most other pokemon ive seen i can tame with different animal levels just not the tauros
Sili  [author] Mar 16, 2018 @ 10:09am
Thx, I will see what comes into my mind for a thumbnail for the next version :)
I dont think it should, I programmed it so it stands alone and it should not interfere with anything.
To everyone waiting on updates: I was sick for a few days and now exams start, so the next update could take some time because I am involved quite a lot IRL. But no worries: I already started and made some progress ;)
MiamiHurricane Mar 15, 2018 @ 4:34pm
does this conflict with other pokemon mods on here?
MiamiHurricane Mar 15, 2018 @ 4:32pm
can you change the thumbnail on steam cause its not eye catching at all this needs color and attention because its a good mod
Mr Rong Mar 10, 2018 @ 4:32am
yeah, ill try again.
Dominique901 Feb 23, 2018 @ 11:32am
i just goning to say i never pokemons
Sili  [author] Feb 21, 2018 @ 6:05am
Glad you like it! :)
Thanks for that information, i will look into it. Seems strange, cause the houndoom are just arctic wolfs with houndoom texture, maybe arctic wolfs are always that aggressive? Also, did you try to tame them without a pokeball?
Mr Rong Feb 20, 2018 @ 11:59pm
i like the mod, but the hounddooms are just a bit unballenced, they eat everything, and frequantly attack my minnions. I still enjoyed the mod, but I just keep losing to wild hounddooms ( they even eat the little hounddours).
Sili  [author] Feb 17, 2018 @ 4:37pm
Okay I scimmed over it, I think this is already fixed in my local code. Sadly saves with an older version will probably not work anymore. (Sorry, I did not know how saving data in RimWorld worked as a whole back then, cause I am just learning as I am working on this.)
Sili  [author] Feb 17, 2018 @ 4:30pm
Thank you lightningboldt.lb, i will look into that tomorrow!
@whscorbin I will think over it, but the idea is to replace every animal. Why would you need the vanilla ones?
lightningboldt.lb Feb 17, 2018 @ 2:42pm
how does one post the console output
whscorbin Feb 17, 2018 @ 9:35am
Is there a way to turn off the "replace vanilla creatures" feature? I want to play with pokemon in addition to the other animals.
Sili  [author] Feb 17, 2018 @ 7:01am
There was a comment earlier of having bugs when caravans spawn, that comment sadly seems to be deleted again. I was not yet able to reproduce that bug, if anyone else gets across that, please consider to load a previous save in dev mode when it happens and post the console output here, so I can look over it, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks to all of you for your interest in this mod :)
Sili  [author] Feb 17, 2018 @ 5:42am
That is probably wise. I will consider that for v0.2.
Lemon Feb 16, 2018 @ 10:58pm
I HIGHLY suggest staying way from the "P" word. Use the mons, but using the "P" word will get you a takedown faster than anything else
Sili  [author] Feb 16, 2018 @ 5:34am
Mareep do yield wool! (or they should at least :D) And I also thought of making mareepwool made clothes more electric resistant, they do since the last patch. (or they should xD)

Butchered Magnemites give steel and components.

I like that "dig" mechanic. But I dont think Ill use it with Tyranitar ;)

Cleaning with Grimers was actually the thought I came up with first too. But rereading their PokeDex entries on Bulbapedia I found it not very fitting. But when they spawn, the current filth actually despawns because the Grimer now consists of this filth THEREOF "cleaning" the homearea. They also digest random items from your dumping zones. Plus you can milk them for chemfuel :D

I dont know yet what ill do with the houndours. Your idea seems cool, maybe Ill use this with a more "cosy" fire type. I am playing with the thought of making them invisible while night time, making them superior predators :D
UnhandsTool Feb 15, 2018 @ 7:33pm
Well, the solution to that may be easier than you think. For example, have Mareeps sheerable for an abundance of wool (They are sheep, afterall). Have it so that clothes made from it have insane amounts of energy resistance.

Magnemites could shed Steel, as they are a steel type. Yes, they eat up power like crazy, but that's what you have the Mareep for, they balance each other out

Tyranitar and their line could, every so often, "Dig" for random materials. A mechanic similar to grazing, perhaps?

Grimers could clean. This sounds counter-intuitive, but hear me out; They're literally made of muck and stuff, so you could rationalise that they absorb it to feed themselves.

Houndoor could just be a portable heat/light source. Could perhaps convey a mood buff for colonists if they get nuzzled by them, a greater one than the standard ones as they'd be warm and cuddly.

Of course, just suggestions. I'm plesantly surprised with how quickly you added Grimer and Muk, good work
Sili  [author] Feb 15, 2018 @ 5:35pm
You can actually already kinda do that with Mareeps! I dont know if I want to generalize that for every electric type Pokemon because the hunt for specific Pokemon with specific purpose would decrease greatly. But I like your thinking :)
QuidQuoPro Feb 15, 2018 @ 4:12pm
Thought: A way to harvest electric type pokemon for electricity. like a cage that also acts as a generator.
Sili  [author] Feb 15, 2018 @ 2:24pm
Thanks, I dont have that tested out very well and thats actually the information I am looking for! I will reduce the grimer spawn rate in the next update, keep me updated on how you feel about the overall balancing.
Deppy Feb 15, 2018 @ 11:47am
my only problem with this mod is that the grimer spawn rate seems to be out of control, no matter how much i keep my pawns on cleaning duty they seem to spawn everywhere
Sili  [author] Feb 15, 2018 @ 6:44am
Thats because Pokemon will completely replace vanilla animals, that's how i programed it. There are not yet enough of them to replace every single one, but I am working on it. Thanks for pointing that out, I forgot to add that to the workshop page. Have fun!
lightningboldt.lb Feb 14, 2018 @ 9:51pm
I really like the consept of this mod and hope you keep working on it for the community. One problem I am having with this is all the vanilla animals don't spawn anymore and only the animals from this and other mods appear so do you know why this happens and why it doens't effect other mods.
Sili  [author] Feb 13, 2018 @ 9:31am
Magnemites repair broken buildings that belong to their faction. They need a lot of energy, in order to not make them op. For more information please visit the forum entry where I try to document all progress and mechanics: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=39015.0
UnhandsTool Feb 13, 2018 @ 8:21am
So, what do the Magnemites actually do? Actually, some more clarification would be useful as to how the different pokemon behaive.

I managed to get my Magnnemite back up and running, but then he just continuously drained my power supply and then seemingly discharged it for no reason, entering this re-charge / dissipate loop.
